Papertake Weekly - Get in Shape!

Updated to post that DORA is the winner of the Lili of the Valley voucher! CONGRATS Dora! Please  contact Dawny to claim your prize! Thanks again to everyone for joining us in our celebration!!

Oh wow, could I ever follow the advise of this weeks challenge!! LMBO! I NEED to get in shape. But ok...who wouldn't rather spend the time getting inky and having fun??!! I mean, really! LOL! I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped us celebrate Papertake Weekly's  4th birthday last week! We had an awesome turnout for the hop and we truly appreciate your support! We wouldn't be here if it weren't for you! So THANK YOU!!!  Now it's time to move on to the new challenge this week, and Dawny has asked us to "get in shape" by using three different shapes on your card. Your card base can count as one.  I  used more than three, but that's ok as long as you have at least three. Here's what I came up with

I have been wanting to color up this cutie since I got her forever ago! Of course I would use it for a Birthday card for one of my most favorite person in the whole world. :)  She's Angelina's Balloons from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed her onto Cyrogenic White paper from The Paper Temptress, and then colored her with Copic markers. Clothes and balloons - E97, 99, and 17;  skin - E11, 01, 00;  hair - Y21 and E33;  and T2, 4, and blender pen for the bloomers and socks.  For her cheeks, I used pink chalks after I was done coloring.  She's cut out with oval Nesties (one of my shapes) using the out of the box technique for the balloons.  I covered the balloons with some glossy accents and then sprinkled some fine glitter on them while they were wet.

The doily behind her is from a Cheery Lynn Designs doily die (another one of my shapes), then I added a rectangle panel that is bordered by a Martha Stewart punch, and added  the banner (Whimsy Stamps) up in the right corner (two more shapes).  See that flower? That was made with my newest Cricut cartridge The Flower Shoppe. I buy all my Cricut cartridges from Hallmark Scrapbook. They have the best prices and customer service, period!  I can tell I'm really going to love this cartridge and use it a lot! The leaves are from another Martha Stewart punch.

Oh man....looking at this close up shows how bad my eyes are getting! LOL!  The papers I used are VERY VERY old Daisy D's that I've had in my stash for probably four or more years. I used Bazzill cardstock as well as some kraft. The sentiment was computer generated and then just cut out and popped up.

So that's it for me today. Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the rest of the amazing creatons by my teamies, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hug!

Papertake Weekly - Creature Comforts

Hi everyone! We made it through Monday, and that's always a good thing. LOL! I've got to tell you, my awesome hubby got me a Galaxy 10.1 Tab w/32 gig for my birthday! (it's the same as an I-Pad only better in my opinion) WOOHOO! I'm having so much fun figuring out how to use it! LOOOOVE it! The screen graphics are amazing! I just wonder how in the world we survived 20 years ago before we had all this amazing technology! LOL!

With today being Tuesday, it's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly. This week, Dawny's challenge is Creature Comforts. So you can use any animal you want, cute, ugly, or so ugly it's cute! LOL!  We're sponsored this week by Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  For my card, I used one of Dustin Pike's images.

He's colored with Copic markers. I tired the really dark shadow around him, and I'm not so sure I'm sold on the idea. This is one of those cards that looks a lot better in person than it does translated onto film. I cut the cute elephant out using circle and petite circle Nestabilities, and then popped it up from the card base. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and some Stampin Up ribbon. The papers are from Nitwit Collections matted with Bazzill cardstock.

The banner was made using an awesome die from Whimsy Stamps and a piece of yellow scrap paper I had hanging around. I just threaded it with some bakers twine. The huge button I've had in my stash, and the stamp is an old one as well.

So that's it for my card today! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly and take a look at all the gorgeous creations made for your pleasure! And then we'd truly love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us!! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon!  Hugs!!

PaperPlay Challenge - use two stamped images

Hey everyone and happy Friday Eve! Usually short work weeks draaaaaag by, but this week is actually going by pretty quickly! I almost forgot to schedule my post for this morning cause it seems like it's not that time of the week yet! LOL! So anyway, it's time for a new challenge from PaperPlay Challenges, and this week the challenge is from our fabulously talented Miss Mandy. We are being sponsored by the amazing Nicole from Inky Impressions! If you've never tried their stamps, you're missing out! VERY high quality rubber impressions and the images are sooooo adorable!! Give yourself a little treat and pop over to take a look at all their fabulous line!!!  For the challenge this week, Mandy is asking everyone to use two stamped images on your project. Now I feel like I might have cheated just a smidge, cause I merged two digi images together instead of using two physical stamps. So I hope Miss Mandy doesn't mind that I went that way with her challenge. :)    For my card, I used "Geeky Love" and "By the window", both from Make it Crafty. I think this image is so cute and it was really fun to color! I made it for my daughter's wedding anniversary.

I used my Copic markers to color it and then used an awesome sentiment from a set of Whimsy stamps. Isn't that sentiment so much fun??!!!  The papers are Basic Grey matted with Bazzill cardstock, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (so is that pretty silver corner).  The ribbon is May Arts silk ribbon from Stamp and Create with a button from my stash.

I didn't write down the colors I used, so to the best of my old memory, I used R20's for his sweater and shoe's, B90's for his jeans, E13 and up for the window and table, T grays for her sweather and V90's for her skirt and shoes. Sorry, I have no idea about the hair.

Please be sure and pop over to PaperPlay Challenges to see all the gorgeous creations from the rest of the talented DT, and then we'd really love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today! I truly appreciate all your wonderful comments! Sure hope to see you again soon! Hugs!!!

Papertake Weekly - Anything goes with option of shaped card

Hi friends and happy Tuesday!! Hope you had a wonderful long weekend and was able to fit some crafting into the mix of enjoying the weather! It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week it's anything goes with an option of making a shaped card. We are sponsored this week by both Lili of the Valley AND Wild Orchid Crafts! Gosh, I want to enter!! LOL!

For my card, I chose to use this adorable new image #378 Chess Tilda and I think she's about the cutest little thing EVER!!! I love her! She's from the new Winner takes it All collection and she's available right now over at Magnolia-licious!! Diana has the best selections of Magnolia stamps in stock and ready for shipping! So be sure and visit Magnolia-licious for all your Maggie needs! She's colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out and popped up on that cute banner I made with the die from Whimsy Stamps and some twine.

I used the T series of grays and E21, 23, and 25 for her jeans. Her skin is E11, 01, and 00 with chalk on the cheeks. I was playing with different mixes of colors on her hair, so I honestly couldn't tell you what I ended up using. I used a red Spica pen for her glasses.  The papers are some I've had for at least a year. It's by Wild Asparagas and it's matted with Bazzill cardstock. The shaped card was cut using the Expression and Elegant Edges cartridge. I just picked one of the frames and then scored and folded it in half. The frame behind Tilda was cut with Oval nesties and Petite oval Nesties, and then machine stitched.  The sentiment is also from Whimy Stamps School Yard Fun. This group of sentiments is awesome for the new Winner takes it all collection!  Oh, see that sporadic zig zag stitching around my card? That's inspiration from my good friend Regina Easter that owns The Cutting Cafe'! Regina has been doing that for years, and I always thought it looked so cool! So this time, I took inspiration from her and gave it a shot. I like the way it turned out!  The three pearls down in the bottom corner were made with a pearl pen. LOVE those pearl pens!!

So that's it for me today! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly and check out what deliciousness my teamies have cooked up for your pleasure! Then we'd LOVE it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and I hope to see you back again soon!!

PTW - Let's play BINGO!!!!

Hi friends!! We've made it through yet another Monday, and so it's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly! This week, we've got a fun one for you! We're going to play Bingo! So here's your Bingo board:

We are being sponosred this week by The Ribbon Girl, so if you want a chance to win a yummy prize, then pick your three in a row and show us what you've got!  Here's what I've come up with. My wonderful sis is going through a rough time right now. She just lost her dear Father-in-Law and the family is going through a really rough time. During his illness, he had some wonderful nurses and my sis asked me to make some special cards for them as a keepsake to thank them for everything they'd done. This is what I came up with. I received one of these gorgeous books from my wonderful and talented friend Cami, and I've been wanting to make one ever since. This was the perfect opportunity. Well I'll tell you, I set about it on Saturday morning and FINALLY figured out how to construct it by Saturday night. LOL! It was a lot of work to figure it out, but I've got it, and now I've just got two more to do. So anyway...without further ado, here is the book card I created for my sis to give to his nurses.

I chose the last column which are BLOOMS, FREE, and LACE.  The FREE I used was a metal embellishment (the corner). This is the front, straight on.  The butterfly is a die cut by Cheery Lynn Designs, the papers are Basic Grey matted with Bazzill cardstock, the Blooms are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the lace is from an antique shop in Illinois, The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, and I also used a Bronze Pearl Pen on the butterfly and sentiment panel. Of course I did some machine stitching on it as well. This is the view where you can see it looks like a book.

A view of the inside. There is some SERIOUS scoring and fan folding going on with this thing. :) I could NOT have done it without my amazing Scor Pal!! Thanks TONS, Diana!!!! The book measures 5.5" x 6" on the outside. I used more lace and some pearls on the framed sentiment on the inside. I also made a pocket on the inside left where a tag will be placed for a personal note from the family to the nurses.

More Wild Orchid Blooms and another Whimsy sentiment.  I think this looks much better in person than it does in the pics.

So that's it for me today. Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the amazing creations by my teamies! And then we would truly love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
