Wild About Stamping - A new Magnolia-licious sketch challenge for September

Can you believe it's already September??? Where in the world is the time going? Each year just goes by faster and faster. *sigh* I'm always happy to see fall arrive though. I love the beautiful colors and the crispness in the air. It just gives me an awesome feeling. Not sure why, but I love it! Well, with the arrival of September, comes a new sketch challenge for Magnolia-licious. This month, it's Diana's turn. And she actually chose a project for us instead of using a sketch. And what a fun and awesome project it is, too!

It's a Scor-Pal project for an accordian file. You could use this for a multitude of things! Diana suggested stamped images, which I thought was perfect. Thus, the theme of my project was born. This accordian file went together pretty easily too! I will be the first to tell you that I normally have to do these types of things twice cause I always mess it up my first try. I got this one on the very first try! WOOHOO!!! The directions are available here.

For mine, I used three different Magnolia stamps. The lion from the Pet and Animal collection, the sign from the Chasing Butterflies Collection, and the tag. They're all colored with my Copic markers. The oval behind the lion was cut with my Nesties and then lightly airbrushed with my Copics, just to take the sharp edge off the bright white. I just hand drew the grass line with my Copic multi-liner pen. I can't find the sign in stock right now at Magnolia-licious. But if you're interested, please just send Diana an email.

So whatcha think? Would you like to win this accordian folder with a few little treats inside? If you would, just leave me a comment on this post by midnight Monday, Sept 7th. I will draw a winner Tuesday evening via Random.org. Watch the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog this coming Friday for more information about this amazing accordian file.
Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and I hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!!!

Bitten By The Bug new challenge and blog hop with candy!

Hi everyone! Sure hope you had a wonderful weekend! They never last long enough for me, how about you?? Well, at least we're adding some fun to your Monday blues by having a blog hop for Bitten By The Bug today! YAY! That means that not only do you get to feast your eyes on all the new projects of the talented BBTB designers, you also get a bunch of chances to win some yummy blog candy! YAY!!! The new challenge this week was to use the ribbon cut from the Paper Pups cartridge. I don't know if it's because it's fair time, or what. But all I could think of was putting it on an animal. LOL! This cow from Paper Dolls Dress Up is one of my very favorite Cricut cuts, and I haven't used it yet this year. So I decided to combine the two of them since this cow is defintely cute enough to win first place in a contest! I put it together with the tree and grass cuts from ZooBalloo with my Design Software.
So now onto the blog candy. Leave me a comment on this post by midnight Friday night, and I'll pick one winner via Random.org Up for grabs is a fun package of Rob and Bob Studio 3d stickers, some beautiful Basic Grey rubons, some pretty clear tags, and a Cuttlebug cut and emboss set, Treetops.
Ok, if you got here via the amazingly talented Kazan, then you're on the right track! After you leave your comment here, then continue on to see the fabulous work by Michele Kovak. Michele is the last stop on the blog hop, and I promise you're in for a wonderful treat! Be sure to take some time to look at all of Michele's wonderful work. Thanks so much for joining in on our blog hop today, and hope to see you back again soon! Don't forget to check back on Saturday to see if you won! HUGS!

Fun in the pumpkin patch

Hello and happy Saturday!! I did some babysitting for the grandkids today, and was able to get a little bit of crafting done. I've been wanting to do something with this cute stamp from Digital Pencil Too, and when I found this adorable circle stamp from The Cutting Cafe', I knew they would be a perfect match for each other! It's from a set called Halloween Labels. Regina has lots of cute and fun Halloween stamp sets over at the Cutting Cafe'! Be sure and pop over to check them all out!
I colored the stamp with my Copic markers and cut it out with my circle Nestabilities. The DP is Scenic Route and cardstock is Bazzill. I cut a couple maple leaves out with a Cuttlebug cut and emboss set, and attached them on the corners after sanding them a little bit so the veins of the leaf would stand out nicely. That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by to see me!! Be sure and stop by on Monday cause Bitten By The Bug is having our monthly blog hop. So there will fun and yummy prizes up for grabs!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! HUGS!

Three Clovers Thursday challenge - use a photo

Happy Friday Eve everyone!!! We're definitely on the downhill slide now! I'm sooooo ready for tomorrow. And next weekend is a three day weekend for me! YAY!!!!! Thursday means it time to reveal the new challenge from Kerry over at Three Clovers Designs. This week, she asked us to use a photo on our card. Boy did I struggle with this one. I'm telling you I stressed over it. I had no idea what the heck I was going to do. I NEVER use photo's on my cards. So I looked and I looked. Thought about old photo's and doing a distressed type of thing. NAH...didn't like it. Then I found this cute little picture of my grandson Ben that I just took about two weeks ago. When I saw this picture, I immediately had the entire card planned out in my head.
Be sure to read the inside too!!
So...whatcha think? Did I at least make you giggle? I truly, truly, truly love making funny or punny cards. The papers were all from my scrap bin, so I'm not sure. I do know the goldish color cardstock and the yellow polka dot paper I used on the front are from PTI. I cut the scalloped front out with my Cricut. Lots of machine stitching and another pretty silk bow. (Oh my....I used the same color on my card I posted last night. OOPS!) LOL! The sentiments are by me and computer generated. I hope you like it. Please be sure and go check out what the rest of the Inspiration Team came up with over at Three Clovers. There's no doubt you are in for a real treat with these amazingly talented ladies! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and I hope to see you again soon!!! HUGS!

I Fish you a Happy Birthday - Magnolia-licious and Friday Sketchers

It's Tuesday night, almost hump day. So we're ALMOST through half the week. I love it when we hit the downhill slide. Well...I REALLY love it when it's finally Friday, but you know what I mean. LOL! Well can you believe it? This is two weeks in a row that I've done the Friday Sketchers challenge. How about that! LOL! This was challenging trying to get those five embellies around the bottom of the main image. I barely made it. LOL! I used some of my new stamps from the Lazy Summer Days Collection that are available at Magnolia-licious.

I used #237 Beach Tilda and #612 Bathing Ring. The fish stamp is from an old SU set. I colored all the stamps with my Copic markers. The card base is Bazzill cardstock and the DP is SEI. I cut the tag with my Cricut and the sentiment was computer generated. Also added some machine stitching and some green Kaiser pearls on the corners. I've got to say I am so much in love with this silk ribbon that I found at Stamp Simply. It's sooooo easy to work with.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!! HUGS!

Who's having a birthday? A new Bitten By The Bug challenge

Hi everyone! Sure hope you enjoyed your weekend! It was cloudy, breezy, and cool here today. PERFECT day for crafting (and laundry) . It's time for a new challenge from Regina over at Bitten By The Bug. This week, she asked us to use the owl from the Wild Card cartridge. I used her as is, a shaped card. (You know how I love shaped cards!) I dressed her up with some pretty Basic Grey paper Bittersweet collection (love this stuff) and the cardstock is Bazzill. Added some pretty pink silk ribbon with a Daisy D's button and dressed up her breast feathers with some tiny pearls from Kaiser, and she was pretty well set. I REALLY like the envelope with this card. What a special touch, huh??

Be sure and hop over to Bitten By The Bug to check out the other fantastic creations the rest of the DT members put together. You're in for a real treat! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

Midnight Madness challenge and a Motivet stamp

Sure hope you're enjoying your weekend everyone! I know I sure am. It's just a shame they have to end so quickly! My Magnolia-licious DT sister, Jacque, told me about this awesome blog, Priscillasytles, and she has a sketch challenge called Midnight Madness. Jacque said they're really friendly and have fun challenges and really yummy give aways! So I popped over and checked them out. WOW! I am very impressed! Pricscilla is extremely talented and I love her blog! Her DT is awesome too! So anyway, I made this card to join in on their current challenge! I took a bunch of pics of the card, but just couldn't get the right angle. I have a hard time getting pics of the 5 x 7 cards for some reason. Sorry for the wonky pic!!

I LOVE that beautiful flower and I got it from Chris Sather on the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group! I have no idea the maker, but I wish I did. I've been hoarding it for the perfect card! I can't remember which store I got that cute little angel charm from. And that pretty little pink rose in the center of the flower, came from Jacque. Thank you Chris and Jacque! I think it was the perfect combination to go on top of my bow which was made with my Bow Easy!

This adorable little hippo is called Shy Hilda by Motivet! Oh I'm trying SO HARD not to get totally hooked on these stamps. But it's a losing battle. I colored her with my Copic markers, and she was really easy to color!! I could just kick myself, cause this was the PERFECT card to use one of my cute cuttlebug embossing folders, and I totally spaced it! Dang it! Too late now! Oh well....next time!

So be sure and pop over and visit Priscilla. Take a look at her awesome cards and templates she has! All I can say is WOW! Thanks for visiting me today and enjoy the rest of your weekend! HUGS!

Tricks -n- Treats a Magnolia-licious blog hop!!!

(click on pics to enlarge and view them nice and close)

YAY!!! Happy Friday! And today I have TWICE as much reason to love Friday! Because today, we're having a really fun Tricks - n - Treats blog hop for Magnolia-licious! Not only did the design team use their spooky Magnolia stamps to make a Halloween card, but we also decorated a cute treat bag using a pattern of our choice from Scor-Pal!!! How fun is that??!!! The blog hop started out with the AMAZINGLY talented Cheryl Rowley. Cheryl is my coloring hero. She knows that......cause I've told her about a million times. Seriously...just ask her. LOL! So if you just started the hop here, then please visit Cheryl to start if you want. However you decide to do it, please be sure and visit all the designers to see their fabulous projects. I promise you that you won't be disappointed!! For my set, I used the ever adorable Tilda with Spider Web .
Tilda and the pumpkins are stamped, colored, and then cut out and popped up for dimension. I also used Magnolia pumpkins, and that ever cute bat, and spider, too. Aren't these the most fun stamps ever??? I put them on a base card that I created with my Cricut in DS. It's been a couple of weeks since I put it together, but I'm pretty sure I used George and Mickey Font (I stretched the images in DS). Please email me if you want the cut file. The DP is by Bo Bunny and Bazzill cardstock. The spooky fence is a border punch by Martha Stewart. All the stamps were colored with my Copic markers. Those pretty bows? Those were made with my fabulous Bow Easy.

Isn't this treat bag fun???? I love it! I just cut off the spider web and bottom and top of the broom cause I wanted to turn Tilda's broom into a sign. Here's the link to the Scor-Pal instructions for this box. Just click HERE for the tutorial on how to make it. I will tell you the instructions make a pretty small box. More like what I would consider to be a nut cup. I wanted something a little bigger, so here are the dims I used. I cut my paper at 7" square, then scored at 2" and 5" Follow the instructions for everything else. I LOVE it! You could decorate this awesome box for ANY holiday! It's really sturdy too. I did mine with Bazzill cardstock, and then cut some DP to fit the sides.

This set was soooo much fun to make! I sure hope you enjoy it too!! Now for the really fun part of the blog hop! Halloween blog candy!!! I'm giving away two Martha Stewart border punches. The spooky fence (just like I used for my project, and another one that I ended up buying two of. (it's awful when you forget what you have at home) LOL! You will also receive a mystery Magnolia stamp. Don't you just love a good mystery? Can't have Halloween Tricks n Treats without having a little mystery involved! All you have to do is leave a comment here on this post. You've got until midnight Tuesday evening. I will then pull a winner and announce it on my post next Thursday morning. So check back! If you don't claim it within two days, I will pull another name.

Now it's time for you to move on to the FABULOUS Jacque Beddingfield. I promise you are in for a real treat! Jacque is such a wonderful artist and the details she puts into her card making craft is just unbelievable! So hop on over to Jacque's blog to see what wonderful treat she's got in store for you!
Then when you've completed the blog hop and visited all the awesomely talented Magnolia-licious designers, be sure and hop back to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog, and make your own card and treat bag. Link your project to the blog candy post by Oct 31st, and you will be eligible to win a prize! So tell me.... what are you sticking around here for? Get busy hopping and creating! But don't forget to post a comment here first! LOL! Hugs! Have a FABULOUSLY SPOOKY Friday!!!!!

Bitten By The Bug challenge - A ton of love

Hi everyone! Hope you had a fantastic weekend! It's time for a new challenge from Regina over at Bitten By The Bug. This week, she is asking us to use the envelope and card cut from the Walk In My Garden cartridge. I'd never used this cut before. Hence...the reason I absolutely love these challenges from Regina. There was only one stipulation on this challenge, and that is the envelope must be primarily yellow. Considering yellow is my favorite color, I had no problem with this one!
I used my new elephant stamp I just got from Magnolia-licious. Isn't she cute? She's from the Pet And Animal collection. I really don't like the way I colored her with my Copics. It was a real challenge for me. Hopefully, I'll learn from it and improve. But I still think she's really cute, even if I'm not impressed with my coloring.
The rest of the card was cut using my Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge with my Cricut Expression. Also used my Copics to try and enhance the cuts a little. The label on the front of the envie was cut with my Nestabilities. The envelope has a velcro tab to close the top. This envie is definitely not meant for mailing. Bazzill was used for the base of the card, and the PP is by Bo Bunny. Please be sure and visit Bitten By The Bug to see the fabulous creations by the rest of the design team. You'll get tons of inspiration for using your Cricut!
Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and sure hope to see you back again soon! Have a great week! Hugs!

3 Clover Thursday Challenge - Digi dowload challenge

Hi everyone! It sure is nice to be crafting again! It's Thursday, which means it's time for a new challenge from Kerry over at Three Clovers Designs. This week, she is doing a techie time challenge. Either use a digital download or create a background using your computer. I usually use the digi stamps from The Cutting Cafe, but I just recently got this adorable stamp, and well, I just HAD to use it! The image came from Digital Pencil Too. It reminded me too much of my grandson saying his goodnight prayers (even if he does have dark hair). So I couldn't resist.

I colored it with my copic markers, and used some of the markers that came in the new set of 12 pastel colors that I got from Magnolia-licious. These colors are so delicious! I also used some of my brand new silk ribbon that I got from Sharon at No Time To Stamp, Stamp Simply ribbon store. I have been looking for a good source for silk ribbon for ages, and I've finally found it. It just lays (lies???) on your card so nice and it's light as a feather. I was also lucky enough to win a wonderful little tool called Bow Easy from Sharon. Now I can't say that I couldn't make a bow before I got this little tool, but I will say that it took me a while with a lot of fidgeting with the ribbon to get it to look just right. Well, with the Bow Easy, it's one..two...three...and you have a FABULOUS looking bow! For all of you that have commented on my bows or asked me how I made them, please do yourself a favor and invest in this awesome little tool.

Ok, that's it for today. Please be sure and pop over to Three Clovers Designs to check out the rest of the fabulous cards the DT created. You're gonna love them! And then grab your digi downloads and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
This card will be for sale in my etsy shop if you're interested.

Tilda with present - Did you ever just have one of those days?

Ok, so here's the scenario...I've got about four hours or so into this card. It's finished inside and out. The only thing I have left to do is stamp the "Happy Birthday" on the inside, right? So I've got my stamp on my acrylic block and I open up my Memento ink pad and start to pat my stamp. And there goes my ink pad, right out of my hand, sliding right across the right half of my card. OH NO!!! I don't know what it is with that ink pad, but it's like it really likes to jump out of my hand!

So anyway, thus the reason for all the flowers up the right side of the card! I was so frustrated after putting all that time into it, and I really loved the way it looked before I totally ruined it. Oh well....no sense in crying over spilled milk, right? For this one, I used #249 Tilda with heart package from Magnolia-licious colored with my Copic markers. The paper is from Wild Rose Studio, and the flowers are Prima. I sure hope it doesn't look too awful bad. What do you think? I hate it, but it's not what I wanted either.

Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and I hope to see you back again soon! I'll be back to my normal blogging before too long. My Grandson leaves on the 11th *sniff* . Big hugs!

Bitten By The Bug and Go Kreate

Hi everyone! Sure hope you had a wonderful weekend! I was actually able to craft a little today. Randy took the boys to a fun place today to run and get out a lot of energy, and as soon as they walked out the door, I headed to my desk. I haven't crafted in so long that I was afraid I wouldn't be able to create a thing. This was a very quick attempt to do the new challenge over at Bitten By The Bug. Go Kreate was so kind, and sent the BBTB Designers a die of this adorable Teddy Bear. Isn't he cute??!! I actually cut him out in white and colored him with my Copic markers. Then used a little piece of black paper with the die to cut out his eyes and nose. His mouth I just drew in with my Copic Multi liner. Anyway, the challenge from Regina was to use the square scalloped tag from the Celebrations cartridge. YAY! I love scallops and this square tag is awesome. I cut it out with my Expression which I got from Hallmark Scrapbook.

The paper I used was just from my scrap pile, and I got the flowers from QVC about two to three years ago. I'll never be able to use all those flowers. LOL! Card base is Bazzil cardstock. Please make sure you visit Bitten By The Bug to see how the rest of the designers used this cute Teddy. Also be sure to check out the new contest Regina is going to be having that will be sponsored by Go Kreate!
Thanks for stopping by to see me today! I will be back crafting in full force next week. JJ goes home on Tuesday (insert sad face here). Have a wonderful week! hugs!

Thinking of you

I really love this cute little Tilda. I know I say that a lot, but this one really is one of my all time favorites. I used Pink Tilda in Striped Tights and I sat her in this fun Rocking Chair. I also used one of the most awesome sentiments from Magnolia. I love sending cards just to say that I'm thinking of someone, so I'll probably wear the rubber off this stamp! LOL! It would be nice if I could get the sentiment on the card straight though. I noticed it's crooked, but it's stuck down tight now! UGH! Why is it we notice this stuff in the pics?? :)

All these stamps are available at Magnolia-licious. The DP is from PTI, cardstock is Bazzill, and the pearls are by Kaiser.
That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

Magnolia-licious sketch challenge for August

Hi everyone! Can you believe it's already August? I'm just in shock that the summer is passing so quickly! The first of August means it's time for another sketch challenge from the Magnolia-licious Design team. This sketch is by the the Oh-so-talented Becca Feeken! I will be the first to admit you really challenged me with this one, Becca. LOL! But there's nothing wrong with a good challenge, that's for sure!!

I used that ever adorable Tilda in a cherry dress for my card. I just think she's sooo cute, and she was my first ever Tilda stamp that I purchased. If you are looking for Magnolia stamps, then you've GOT to go shopping at Magnolia-licious. Diana has the largest on-line selection of Magnolia stamps in the US and Canada. Her shipping charges are cheaper than any Ive seen (2.50 for orders up to 50. Over 50.00 is free!) PLUS if you join the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group, you get extra discounts and goodies with your orders!!!! Diana is now restocking the holiday stamps, so keep an eye out and be sure and get yours before they sell out!

Just a picture to show the dimension. I stamped Tilda three times, colored her, and then cut her out for lots of layering. I love the 3-D look! For the circles and scalloped circles, I used my Nestabilities. For the zig zag piece, I used my Cricut with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The paper I used are actually digi papers from Raspberry Road Designs.

Please be sure and visit our Magnolia-licious Highlites blog to see the rest of the fabulous creations from the DT. And then we'd love it if you'd play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!
