Magnolia-licious sketch challenge for July

YAY! It's July! Time for swimming pools, BBQ's, lazy days in the sun, and a new sketch challenge from the Design Team at Magnolia-licious! This month's sketch is by the amazingly talented Jacque Beddingfield! I LOVE this sketch! I just recently got this beautiful Tilda (#341 Blowing Hearts) from Magnolia-licious, and I am in love with her. I just think she is way beyond precious.
I reversed the sketch cause I wanted Tilda to be facing the sentiment instead of away from it. I got just a wee bit irritated trying to show the true color of the layering cardstock. It's actually a very dark brown that looks awesome with the DP, but no matter what I did with my photo, it looks black.
I learned how to make these awesome flowers from my design team sister, Cheryl Rowley. She did hers with her scalloped heart Nestabilities. I don't have that set, so I just used the scalloped heart cut from the Doodlecharms cartridge with my Cricut Expression. (looks the same - that's why I didn't buy the nesties) I cut out eight for each flower and distressed the edges with chalk ink, punched a little hole on the bottom of the hearts, and then scrunched them all up. They're a lot of fun to make and I'm sure I'll be making lots of these in the future! Thanks Cheryl!

All layers are machine stitched, and the layer with Tilda is popped up from the card base. It's not very often that Tilda has ears, so I took full advantage by giving her pink pearl earrings!
The tag is another fun stamp from Magnolia-licious. I just tacked it down and ran it through my printer for the sentiment. It's double popped off the card. The DP is Basic Grey Bittersweet and the colored cardstock is Bazzill. White cardstock is cryogen white that has just a touch of sparkle to it. LOVE it!!

And a peek at the inside. That's it for today. So please be sure and visit Magnolia-licious Highlites. The other designers will be posting their cards as they get them done. We would truly love it if you would play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

New Bitten By The Bug challenge plus a Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone! Sure hope you had a wonderful weekend, and that you're ready for the new week! I've got a short week ahead of me since I get Friday off from work. So anywho, it's time for the release of a new challenge from Regina over at Bitten By The Bug. AND, it's time for more fun cause it's another BBTB Blog Hop!!! This week, Regina is asking you to use the Freedom cut fr0m the Graphically Speaking cartridge. Well as soon as I heard what the challenge was, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. So I ran straight to the 4th of July file from The Cutting Cafe'!!!

The card was made by using my DS software with my Cricut Expression, all of which I got from Hallmark Scrapbook. Both the background paper used for the word Freedom, as well as that adorable Uncle Sam hat, is from a set of 4th of July downloadable stamps from The Cutting Cafe'! AND Regina has a special going on right now, so rush over to The Cutting Cafe' to check it out! If you haven't tried Regina's stamps yet, you are missing out! I easily changed the color of the background stamp with my Printmaster program (thank you so much DeeDee!!!), and also resized them to the exact size I wanted for this card. The hat was colored with my Copic markers. I added some Kaiser rhinestones and a ribbon, and I was done. So now onto the info for the Blog Hop!!

If you like flowers, bling, and pink, then I think you're going to like this little batch of blog candy. It consists of a clear flower flourish stamp from Stampendous, a few Prima flowers, Some gorgeous sparkly glittered hearts by Melissa Frances, a set of self adhesive pearls by Kaiser, and some cool pink trim. If you'd like a chance to win this, just leave a comment on this post by midnight Friday night, July 3rd. I will pull a winner sometime over the weekend, so be sure to check back to see if you are the lucky winner!
After you're done here, be sure to hop right on over to Heather's blog and take in all the eye candy she has to offer you! Heather makes the most amazing layouts and cards! She is just a bundle of talent!
Hope you're having fun on the blog hop! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and I hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

Magnolia recipe swap - almost!

Happy Saturday everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in so long, but I've been working on this recipe swap. I thought I had it all designed and ready to go, colored all my Tildas, and was ready to start cutting paper, when I realized I didn't have enough of the red polka dotted paper, and didn't have enough time to order more from on line. UGH! Great planning on my part, huh?? So needless to say, I had to totally design a new one. I was sooooo bummed cause I really liked the looks of this one, which I had to abort. But I wanted to give you this recipe anyway (just click on the top pic - you should be able to read it just fine).

This adorable Tilda (#247 - Tilda with lace skirt) is from Magnolia-licious, and she's colored with my Copic markers. I cut the scalloped base out with my Cricut machine and the polka dotted paper is from PTI. Tilda is raised off the base for dimension. Hope you like the recipe!
Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and join me Monday morning for a new Bitten By The Bug challenge and blog hop! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! HUGS!

Friends through thick and thin - Peggy Loves Vintage

I LOVE this set of images from Peggy Loves Vintage! This one is from a sheet of dowloadable vintage images called Spa Time. Aren't they just the cutest little pair of friends you've ever seen? I love, love, love them.
I truly adore Peggy's images because I can make a card up sooo quick, and still have it turn out so stinkin cute! All I did was print out this cute little image, mount them on some Bo Bunny double dot paper, added some embellies, and voila!! A cute card in just a few minutes!

I also love this tag (#595) that is a new stamp I got from Magnolia-licious. It's from the new Graduation series that is available now. I stamped the tag and ran it through my printer for the sentiment. Soooo easy! Then gave it some color to match the rest of the card with my Copics.

Be sure and visit Peggy Loves Vintage to check out all her awesome Vintage images. If you like vintage, you're going to fall in love with this shop!!

New BBTB Challenge - Flower Pot from Garden of Words

It's Sunday night which means it's time for the release of a new challenge by Regina over at Bitten By The Bug. This week, she asked us to use this cute flower pot from the Garden of Words Cricut cartridge. Can you tell I finally got my Design Studio working on my (used to be) new computer? I'm so happy I can easily make shaped cards again!

And how in the world could I ever make a shaped flowerpot card without adding a cute Tilda with her ladybug? :) I get my Magnolia stamps at Magnolia-licious. Diana has a HUGE selection of Magnolia stamps available, so be sure and pay her a visit to check them all out. She now has the Halloween Tilda's in stock, Tilda with spider web, and Tilda with Spider. They are soooo cute!!!

I LOVE the font in the dowloadable stamp "party time" that I got over that The Cutting Cafe'!!! Regina has the such a large selection of amazing downloadable stamps and cutting files! This one came from a HUGE set called "Extended Family Bithday". And like all of Regina's stamps, they're so versatile and can be used for so many things. Be sure and check out her shop!!

I got my Garden of Words cartridge over at Hallmark Scrapbook who is having a huge cartridge sale going on. I only paid 29.99 for this one. I never would have dreamed the prices for Cricut cartrdiges would ever be so low. Here's a picture of the inside of the card.

Please be sure and pop over to Bitten By The Bug to check out the rest of the talented designers creations with this cute flower pot. And we'd love it if you would join in and play along with us. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

Did you procrastinate? Still need a Father's Day Card???

If you're anything like me, you're a procrastinator. But you're in luck! Aren't these shirt and tie cards just so cute??!! And they were sooooo quick and easy to make! They're from the Cutting Cafe' and come complete with PDF files if you just want to cut them out yourself (that's how I did the tie), and they also come as WPC files that you can cut out with your Pazzle or other cutting machines (that's how I cut the shirt card). Either way yields wonderful results. So if you still need to make some Father's Day cards, head over to The Cutting Cafe' and grab this set! I love it!!

Thanks for stopping by to see me today and sure hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

Hoppy Birthday!

Happy Saturday everyone! I do indeed love the weekend! I made this card for my wonderful Stepson for his birthday. It was really quite easy to put together using this image from Dustin Pike. I just don't do well with guy cards, but I think this one turned out ok.
On the inside, I used a brand new stamp I just got from Magnolia-licious called Cat's Tails. I LOVE this stamp! It's sooooo versatile and will go with so many different types of cards. Diana just restocked her store with a lot of stamps, so hurry over and take a peek at all the wonderful Magnolia stamps she has in stock now.
Details on card: ink - Memento and Copics
Stamps - Magnolia and Dustin Pike
paper - Basic Grey mixed with Kaiser, Gina K cardstock and Bazzill cardstock
other - machine stitching, tag is from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cut with my Expression, sentiment is computer generated using outline only feature for my font, then colored with Copics, Basic Grey button
Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and I sure hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

Three Clovers Designs Thursday challenge - No layers!!

Hi everyone, and happy Thursday!! It's time for a new challenge from Kerry over at Three Clovers Designs. And this week, she has a really good challenge for you. I'm sure it will take most of you outside of your comfort zone. The challenge is to make a card with a single piece of cardstock for paper. That's it. No layers at ALL. You can use all the embellies you want, but just the one sheet of paper. Oh man, was this difficult to wrap my brain around. But you know what? It didn't turn out too awful bad. I must give kudos to GinaK heavy cardstock. At least it still looks good on the inside of the card cause none of the marker ink bled through the paper. The stamp is from SU colored with my Copic markers, and the the pearls are from Kaiser. I just used my paper piercer and made some designs around the outside edge of the card. (you can click on the picture to get a closer look at the card) Added a bow and that was it. So how about you? Are you up for a good challenge? Let's see what you can do with a single sheet of cardstock and some embellies. Please pop over to Three Clovers Designs to see what the rest of the fabulously talented Inspiration Team came up with. They were VERY creative in their use of a single sheet of paper. Unbelievable the talent those ladies have!! And then grab your sheet of cardstock and show us what you can do.

Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!!

Enjoy the ride - A new Bitten By The Bug challenge

It's Sunday night, and that means it's time to reveal a new challenge from Bitten By The Bug! This was a really fun one for me to make. Regina asked us to use the accessory car from the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge, and to make it in lime green, or any shade of green. How fun is that??!!

I chose to use Bo Bunny's polka dot paper cause I truly love it, and it was in the perfect shade of green. And of course I just had to use orange as an accent color to it! :) I turned the car into a shaped card by using my Design Studio along with my Expression, and cut the base of the card out in black. Then cut the card base out again in the orange citrus color to line the inside as well.

I then stamped Tilda with flower garland in her hair, along with the signpost and colored them with my Copics and then cut them out and attached them to the card. I get my Magnolia stamps from Magnolia-licious. Diana has an AWESOME selection of Magnolia stamps, and she just got a big shipment in, too!! Be sure to hurry and check it out so you can get your selection before they sell out again!! I attached the signpost so that it looked like it was on the other side of the car. Added some finishing touches, and that was it.

I know this is a terrible picture, but I wanted to show you that it is a shaped card. Here are the copics used for this card.

Please be sure and visit Bitten By The Bug to see what the rest of the insanely talented design team cooked up for this challenge. We'd love it if you joined in and played along. Also, don't forget about the current sketch challenge that's going on. from Shortcuts! Just create your project based on the sketch and use a flower from one of the many Cricut cartridges, and you could win a $20.00 voucher to the Shortcuts on line store!!! Check it out while you're there. Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!

Graduation card featuring Tilda by Magnolia

I'm very proud of a beautiful young woman in my life, my daugther. She just got her degree and all while working full time and raising our fabulous grandson. She's amazing, and this card is for her. I received the graduation stamps from Diana at Magnolia-licious. Thank you so much Diana.!!
Tilda and her school desk are colored with my Copic markers. I really love the seniment stamps in this collection! I used two of them, Dreams and Goals, and To The Graduate.

I also used my Martha Stewart lace doily punch for this one. The black and white papers are digi downloads. Cardstock is Bazzill and Cryogenic white.

I wanted to keep the inside nice and simple. Here are the copics I used

That's it for today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and I sure hope to see you back again soon! HUGS and Happy Weekend!!!

Shaped card featuring Picnic Tilda on her quilt and the winner of the post it note holder set.

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you had a wonderful Friday and that you're ready for the weekend! I started it out with my poor little Jeep Liberty having to go to the car doctor. It broke BIG TIME on the way home last night. It's a standard and I heard a loud bang and then when I went to shift, my gear shift looked just a little funny. UGH! It was a little crooked and just seemed to be facing the wrong direction. Not good. So it's in the shop for the next week, but at least it's under warranty. It's just a huge inconvenience, as I'm sure all of you know.
Here's another one of the cards made with my petite circle Nestabilities. (Told you I'd be making lots more of these! LOL!) I just really love these little cards. They're perfect for just about anything. I used a cute Tilda image that I received from my new blogging friend, Monica Merkel. Thank you Monica! Both Tilda and the quilt are cut out after being colored with my Copic markers, and then placed on the Summer background stamp. Tilda is popped up with dimensional tape. Be sure and visit Magnolia-licious for all your Magnolia stamp needs. Diana even has special sets of Copic markers that were put together especially for the Magnolia stamps! How cool is that??!! And for extra discounts, don't forget to join the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group while you're there!

I added a little blue gingham bow, and tha pretty much finished this card off! Here's a pic of the Copic markers I used to color the three stamps.

My Oh My Oh My Peggy Loves Vintage and The Cutting Cafe'!!

Now how fun is THIS for a get well card. LOL! You have to read the sentiment on the inside first. And then, for a signature, I wrote *make sure you follow doctor's orders!". This fun, fun little inebriated guy is from a sheet of downloadable vintage images from Peggy Loves Vintage. Oh my gosh, they're so fun to play with. This one is from a set called "Bad Boys". heehee
The fabulous sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe', from an awesome set called Chunky Phrases. SO MUCH FUN!!! I just colored it up with my Copic markers. I'm telling you, when you combine Peggy Loves Vintage with The Cutting Cafe', you can't go wrong!!

BBTB challenge - Mini album and gift card holder using SHORTCUTS!

It's Sunday night and time to reveal a new challenge for Bitten By The Bug! This week is really special, cause we're sponsored by the fabulous Shortcuts! If you haven't tried anything from them yet, you're in for a treat! The acetate is really awesome (better than any other I've had) and I am in LOVE with their gift card holders!! They're soooo easy to decorate! This week, they sent us a package of various items and a sketch. I decided to make a mini album out of the sketch. The challenge from Bitten By The Bug was to use the sketch and that cute, ever infamous flower from George. I LOVE this flower!!

If anyone has a lot of experience working with acetate, and knows how to get a smudge (I'm assuming from adhesive) off the acetate, would you please let me know? There's a smudge on the front of the album and it's driving me crazy. I've used my adhesive remover, a baby wipe, and I don't know what else. But I can't get it clean. Help! Someone? Anyone? :) OMGoodness...have you ever tried to overcomplicate something? THANK YOU JEANNIE!! I have a bottle of undu, used it and that ugly old smudge is now history! YAY!!!! THANK YOU!!!

I used Shabby Chic Tilda, Shabby Chic fence, and Little Birds stamps colored with my Copic markers. Please be sure and visit Magnolia-licious for the largest on line selection of Magnolia stamps in North America! She has great prices on her stamps and shipping is only 2.50 for orders up to 50.00, and free beyond that!

The flowers are of course from my George cartridge, and the swirls are a Sizzix die.
Papers are from Doodlebug, Scenic Route, and Core'dinations. I also used my Nesties on the gift card holder. (it's a Christmas themed gift card from Starbucks, but that's all I had right now) LOL!

That's it for today. Please don't forget to visit Shortcuts and try their products! I love them!! Pop over to Bitten By The Bug to check out what the rest of the fabulously talented design team has come up with for this challenge. I guarantee they're AMAZING!! Then grab your paper and glue, and join in on the challenge. Maybe you'll win a gift certificate to Shortcuts!
