Art Impressions Use Water Based Inks Challenge Week Two!!

Hello AI Fans!!

It's time for week TWO of the Use Water Based Inks challenge going on over at the Art Impressions Blog! Have you entered yet?? There's an awesome prize package to be had, so make sure you get your entry in!!  We're also celebrating the release of the brand new 2015 Water Color Minis stamps AND the OH SO COOL Easel Dies!!!!!!   If you have not seen these, you are seriously missing out! They're the coolest thing EVAH!! You can create a card that has it's very own easel, or you can even just make one to attach to the back of another card you've made!! Pretty awesome, huh??!!

For my card today, I'm showing the Wooden Door Set (sku# 47102) along with the Scalloped Easel Die (sku# 4700) !  These are so easy to use and you're going to love them!!! I used Marvy Markers to color it. The sentiment is from the Suburb TryFold Set.

One really cool feature of the Water Color Stamp Sets at Art Impressions, is that they give you full and detailed instructions on the back of the package including the markers used!!! Cool, huh??!!!
I actually used the exact same markers they instructed because
1)  the colors matched the papers I used perfectly
2)  I wanted to see if I could get mine to look similar to the gorgeous package image.
I'll let you be the judge on how I did. :)

Here's a side and back view of the Easel Die. LOVE it!!

Please be sure to pop over to the Art Impressions Blog to check out all the gorgeous watercolor creations by the Design Team, and then we'd really love it if you'd show us your own creation!

Marvy Markers I used:

More hands = More Candy!! Art Impressions Halloween

Hello AI Fans!!

I sure hope you're not sick of looking a Halloween fun yet, cause I'm having a blast making up these projects!! Today I've got a little treat box to show you. This little lady is available in full size as the Be Scary Set #4521 at Art Impressions, but today I'm showing you how I used the smaller version More Candy#4641 that is available at AC Moore as a wood mounted stamp! She's PERFECT for popping onto a small treat box! This treat box is about 4" tall to the top of the stem and about 3 3/4" wide.  And this adorable stamp fits perfectly on the front of the pumpkin.  It's so easy to make something like this. Just draw out a pumpkin shape or just simply layer up some oval dies! Be sure to use some distress ink around the edges to make the individual pieces stand out. And then I always like to pop up the front center piece with foam tape.

Once you make your pumpkin shape,  simply create a small box to attach to the back of the pumpkin, and you've got a self made treat box!  Or you can use one of the many files available out there for a die cutting machine. This one fits three snack sized candy bars perfectly.

 Copics used:
E000, E00, E11, R21, R20, C1, C3, C5, YG11, YG13, YG17, YR12, YR14, YR18

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today and hope you get some time this weekend to get crafty!

Trick or Treat Set from Art Impressions

Hello AI Fans!!

Who loves Halloween??!! Dunking for apples, dressing up for fun, parties and scary movies. I love it all! Today I've made a card that can be set out as a decoration as well. This cute little couple is out Trick or Treating in their adorable outfits, and are about to go knock on the door of a very sinister looking house that is probably full of scary ghosts! :)  This was made out of a very simple step card.

I just added some cuts from my Silhouette and voila! A self made Halloween decoration! Here's a close up of this cute couple!

And here's a pic with a little bit of an angle so you can see how it's made.

For the moon, I simply used my 1-3/4" circle punch, colored it with Copics, and then glued it to the back of a couple of the tree branches. Then adhered the bat to the front of it with some mounting tape.

Copics used: E000, E00, E11, E04, E07, E13, E15, E50, E51, R20, R21, BV00, BV02, BV04, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG21, YG23, YR12, YR14, Y32, T1, T2

Papertake Weekly two by two

Hello Papertakers and happy Tuesday!! It's time for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly, and this week Dawny says it's Two by Two!  So interpret how you may...use two images, two papers, two of anything. We are sponsored this week by the fabulous folks over at The Hobby House!

Today I'm showing you a card I created for a recent wedding I attended. I've always loved this image. It just screams romance, don't you think? The image is from Mo Manning colored with Copic markers. The sentiment stamp was just loose in my stash, so I have no idea who it's made by (sorry!). The bow is May Arts silk ribbon topped with a pretty Prima lace flower. I added a few flat backed pearls and called her done!

So that's it for me today. Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to check out all the amazing creations by the design team, and then we'd really love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!

Art Impressions Reunion Blog Hop, release of new Spinners, and a new challenge!!!!

Hello AI fans!!

We're all super excited today as we're having a Reunion Blog Hop at Art Impressions! Veteran Design Team members are joining in with the current Design Team members to celebrate the release of the brand new AI Spinners and the launch of a new challenge!

You should have arrived here from my amazingly talented and creative DT sis, Renee!  But if you just happened to stumble on this Reunion hop, it all starts right HERE at the Art Impressions Blog!  There is also a list of the links below in case you need it!

So as I was saying, Art Impressions has released SEVEN brand new Spinner Sets!! And yes, I have to have every single one of them!! LOL!   Today I'm featuring the adorable too cute to spook Witch Spinner Set (#4679)  and I also used the Witch Spinner Dies (#4698).  Isn't she so CUTE??!!  ! I don't think she would scare anyone at all, but her candy bucket would be full from being so adorable! I also used the Giant Jack-o-lanterns to decorate the front fence.  I made a 5x7 shutter card Silhouette cut file which turned out to be perfect for a spinner. It allows room to decorate the front of the card without hindering the spinning action.  But you don't have to cut one with the Silhouette. It would be fairly easy to score, fold, and cut one of these by hand.

Here's a nice close up view of this cutie pie!

And here's a kind of sideways pic to show you the dimension of the card. All the decorative elements of the card were cut with Silhouette files.

And a little action shot of the card!!  You simply wind up the spinner and close the card. When the recipient gets it and opens it, they see this

Do you want a chance to win one of SEVEN awesome prizes??? Art Impressions is giving away Seven stamp and die sets!!!!  One of each of the new release!! WOOHOO!!!! Be sure to sign up!!

Don't forget it's also the start of a brand new challenge at Art Impressions!

So now it's time to hop on over to see our amazing veteran DT member

Now just in case you get lost along the way with a broken link or something, here is
a list to help you along!

Thanks so much for hopping along with us today and good luck!!
