Wags 'n Whiskers flower challenge, a sale, and news about the next release!

Yay! It's Friday! :) Hope everyone is having a fabulous week! It's time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge, and this week, the fabulously talented Jeanette is asking us to use flowers. I was commissioned to make a Mother's Day card with two boys with skin of color. So I chose both Super Ryan and Just For You. Aren't they too cute? I love these two together, because "Just For You" does indeed look like the older brother, don't you think? I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Sketch Copics. I then cut them out and double popped them off the card.

And right now, both of these stamps, as well as all the Wags 'n Whiskers stamps illustrated by Crissy Armstrong, are on sale for 25% off!!! How cool is that!! If you've been wanting to get some of them, now is the time!

Please be sure and pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the Divas fabulous creations! We're sadly saying goodbye to Bree from her GDT spot, and welcoming Melanie on board as our new GDT. We'd love it if you played along with the challenge, and this time you have two weeks to play along, because next week is the NEW SUMMER RELEASE of Wags 'n Whiskers! So hope you stop by on Wednesday and Thursday for the sneak peeks, and then again on Friday for the celebration blog hop for the new release! The new stamps are sooooo CUTE, and I can't wait for you to see them! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Something Different

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope your week is off to a fantastic start! We're supposed to be WINDY here today. YUCK! I don't mean breezy...it's always breezy here in Reno. We're talking windy, windy, windy. The losing shingles kind of windy. So hopefully it won't do too much damage. Well enough about the weather. :) With the arrival of Tuesday, that means it's time for a new challenge from Dawny at Papertake Weekly. This week, she is asking everyone to do something different, and since it's the last Tuesday of the month, we're being sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp! Whether it be a different type of fold for your card, a different technique, different colors than your norm, whatever. It doesn't matter as long as it's something different for you. Me? I chose shabby chic! I hope I accomplished it. I sure did try, anyway.

The teapot was cut with my Cricut Expression using the Dreams Come True cartridge. I cut out several and layered the pot three deep and the handle and spout two deep, all with dimensional tape between them. I took my scissors to the edges and used lots of Cat's Eye Jumbo Java chalk ink around the edges.

The gorgeous lace and ribbon is from Stamp and Create, the tea stamp is from Magnolia-licious, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the papers are Nitwit Buds n Blossoms, and the leaves are made with the Martha Stewart frond punch. I tied a piece of twine around the handle of the teapot and looped it around and tied the other end throught the tea stamp. I wanted to simulate a tea bag. I finished it all off by using some Kaiser flat backed pearls.

Because of the dimension, I also made an envelope box to hold it. So what do you think? Did I accomplish the shabby chic look? Please be sure and hop over to Papertake Weekly to see what fabulous creations the rest of the design team came up with. Then grab your paper, your glue, and then figure out what "something new" you've been wanting to do. We'd love to see it, and you just might win a prize! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Wags 'n Whiskers sketch challenge

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you're having some lovely spring weather in your neck of the woods. It's been a cold, rainy, slushy, snowy kind of week in Reno. But the weekend is supposed to shape up quite beautifully! With it being Friday, that means it's time for a new challenge at Wags 'n Whiskers! This week, it's a sketch challenge issued by our lovely guest designer, Bree. It's a great sketch leaving lots of room for creativitiy and fun! I chose to go All American this week with this adorable stamp from the new collection called Let's Go Team! She's colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up for dimension. I chose to use stars as the corner embellishments, and cut them out using my Cricut Expression and George cartridge.

DP are by Best Creation and cardstock is Bazzill. The silk ribbon and charm are available at Stamp and Create, and I used my fabulous Bow Easy! Nestabilities were used to cut the image mat, and Kaiser pearls for the three little embellies. Now please be sure and visit the rest of the Diva's to see their amazing creations for the challenge!

Lacey, Nikki, Jeanette, Debbie, Karen, Tina, Michele, Chris, Jacqui, Christa, and Bree

Then we'd love it if you'd join us in the challenge! But remember, for a chance to win a free stamp, you must use a Wags 'n Whiskers image on your project!

OH! Have you heard??? The first two releases of Wags 'n Whiskers stamps are now available as digi's!!!!! How exciting is that? Want to join in on this weeks challenge but don't have a stamp yet? Just pop over HERE and get a digital one! It takes up no room in your craft area, and you can manipulate the stamp whatever size and/or direction you want them to face! I love it!!

Papertake Weekly - sketch week

YAY! Monday is done (thank goodness)! That means it's time for a new challenge from Dawny at Papertake Weekly. This week we got to work with another one of Dawny's awesome sketches, and we're being sponsored by Digital Delights. Go check them out, Wendy has the CUTEST images!!

For my card this week, I decided to use this awesome digi image by Mo Manning. I just love it on a Mother's Day card. The tag I used is from Regina over at The Cutting Cafe'. It's from the Holiday Tags Set. Love them! And if you haven't visited Regina in a while, you should go check out all the new sets she's released!!

I used Copic markers to color the image and then cut it out with oval Nestabilities. The silk ribbon and charm are from Stamp and Create, the paper is Nitwits, and the swirls were cut from the Sweethearts cart and my Expression. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the rest of the designers fabulous take on the sketch. And then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us for a chance to win a prize from Digital Delights. Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

First Annual Magnolia Archery Contest - A Magnolia-licious blog hop

Welcome to the April Magnolia-licious blog hop! This month's theme for our blog hop was to use the adorable stamp, #375 Right Through My Heart from Magnolia-licious! Diana has her on sale right now for $7.35, which is 30% off the regular price! She is also running a contest for projects where you use this cutie! Submit your creation directly to Diana at magnolia.us@shaw.ca . A random draw will determine the winner of two Magnolia stamps!! On top of that, the best entry will be the winner of the GRAND PRIZE which is secret right now, but I guarnatee it will be FABULOUS!!

So on to the blog hop. If you've arrived here from the fabulously talented Angie, then you're in the right spot. If not, you might want to go back and to the beginning at Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog. Our resident storyteller, Monica, came up with the cutest story for this blog hop. So I used her story as inspiration for my project. I have been wanting to build a stair step card for soooo long, and this is my first attempt. I will admit I had some serious challenges with this one. There was just so many skinny cuts on these images. In fact, I just noticed that somewhere during the construction of this card, I lost the tip of the arrow that Edwin is holding in his hands. :( But I still had a blast making it, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I used a grand total of SEVEN stamps in this project! They include: #375 Right Through My Heart, #166 Sherwood Edwin, #210 Tulle Skirt Tilda (please ask Diana), I don't see the other Tilda with the bow and arrow in stock right now. Please email Diana if you're interested, #428 Tree with carved heart, #519 New Bench, and finally #606 Sign with Birds.

All stamps were colored with Copic markers and cut out for placement on the card. This was a really fun thing to make! I ran the sign through my printer to get the words on it. This has LOTS of dimension with I absolutely love.

Now for the fun! I'm giving away some goodies!! If you would like to win an assortment of surprise goodies, please leave a comment on this post no later than midnight Pacific time on Saturday April 24th . I will randomly select a winner on Sunday, April 25th. When you're all done here, please hop over to one of our amazing guest designers, Mindy, to see what she's created for you viewing pleasure. There's not a doubt in my mind you'll love it! Thanks for joining us for our hop today! Hope to see you again soon!

In my heart wit Tilda by Magnolia

Happy Saturday! I have been waiting to use this adorable cutie on a card since I got her from Diana at Magnolia-licious! I LOVE her! She's #210 Tulle skirt Tilda from the Fairytale Collection, and she available for preorder at Magnoila-licious right now!

She's colored with Copic sketch markers and cut out and popped up. I've centered her on a raised heart cut with Nestabilities. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts which I colored with the Copic air brush system. They are edges with stickles and the leaves and branches are from Martha Stewart punches. The stamped ticket is from a set by Autumn Leaves, and the silk bow is centered with a Basic Grey button.

Because the flowers make the card too bulky to fit into an envelope, I have made an envelope box for presenting the card. The cardstock is Bazzill and the papers are Nitwits Butterfly Kisses Too. All the top panels are machine stitched. (just click on the pics for a good look).

This card is available for purchase HERE if you are interested. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Wags 'n Whiskers - Ribbon challenge

Happy Friday!! And you know what Friday means....yep! It's time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge! This week, our challenge from the fabulously talented Lacey, and she's asking us to use ribbon on our projects. Well....I think most of you probably know that's not much of a challenge for me! LOL! And that's because I use the fabulous May Arts silk ribbon that is available in Lacey's shop, Stamp and Create! For this challenge, I immediately thought of Mother's Day, and then of this adorable stamp of Ryan called Just For You! I don't think there could be a more precious and perfect image for Mother's Day! He's colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up from the card base for dimension.

The sentiment is from a fabulous set of stamps from Regina over at The Cutting Cafe' called Happy Mother's/Mum's Day Huge circle set. Great for quick, easy, and awesome cards for Mother's Day. Each panel is machine stitched, and that fabulous ribbon and charm are available at Stamp and Create. The papers are Nitwits and the tag was cut with my Expression and the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge. Please be sure to visit the rest of my DT sisters to see all the awesomeness they created for this challenge!
Then join us at Wags 'n Whiskers challenge blog to play along for the chance of winning a new stamp! But remember - You have to use a Wags 'n Whiskers stamp to win! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Cutie Pie

Hi everyone! We made it through Monday, and now it's on to Tuesday! And that means it's time for another challenge from Dawny at Papertake Weekly. This week's challenge is Cutie Pie! Well when I saw this adorable digi image called Loves Healing Hands Girl stamp from Sassy Cheryl's, I thought she was a true Cutie Pie. I was commissioned by a friend and co-worker to make her a Mother's Day card, and this is what I came up with. I sure hope she likes it!

See the lace across the center? I hand crocheted that myself, and will be selling them on etsy if you're interested in them. I make them about seven inches long, and they're between 1-1/4" to 1- 1/2" wide and about 7" long (I could make it longer if you want). I just tucked the edges under the cardstock using Zip dry glue. I hope to be making different patterns, so if you're interested, please check back every once in a while.

The image is colored with Copic markers. Cardstock is Bazzill, and the DP is Basic Grey. I added some machine stitching, and some gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I painted the flowers with some Angel Wings Shimmerz (LOVE that stuff!!), and added some Smooch to parts of the image like the bears eyes, her shoe buckles, and buttons on her dress. I finished it off with some lovely silk ribbon and charm that are available at Stamp and Create. The sentiment tag was just typed up on my computer and then printed on a tag I cut using my Gypsy and Cricut Expression. The tag is from the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge. All of these are available at Hallmark Scrapbook.

Because of the roses, the card won't fit into an envelope, so I made an envelope box for it. I used paper to match the card along with matching cardstock for the scalloped edges (Martha Stewart doily lace punch) and more of the silk ribbon. Doesn't it make the yummiest looking bows ever??!!! Like I said before, I so enjoy making cards, and I like the cards I make (usually-LOL!). But every once in a while, there comes one that I really, really love and have a hard time parting with. This is one of them.

Please be sure and visit Papertake Weekly to check out the rest of the designers take on the challenge as well as the sponsor for this weeks challenge! You are in for a true treat! Then we'd love you to grab your paper and glue and play along with us! You might even get lucky and win a prize! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Just "chickin" in!!

What can I say?? I just love making fun cards that will hopefully bring a smile to the recipients face. I am just so in love with the new Hoppy Easter/Spring collection of Magnolia stamps which I received from Magnolia-licious, that I simply must find other uses for them other than just Easter. I think this one managed to conquer a piece of that quest, don't you? This type of sentiment turns this card into a year round, anytime stamp.

I used #3027 Chicken Tilda for this card, along with #510 Fence and Summer Background. And can you believe it? Maybe my luck is changing! I actually used two stamps that are in stock right this very minute!! They are both colored with Copic markers and cut out and popped up for lots of dimension. The cardstock is Bazzill and the tree and papers are from Nitwits - In The Meadow. I used some silk ribbon along with my Bow Easy, both of which are available at Stamp and Create. and attached a small tag with a computer printed sentiment. A really quick "how to" for someone that doesn't realize how they can do this. Create your sentiment on the computer and go ahead and print it on your normal printer paper. Cut out your tag and apply a little bit of removable adhesive to the back of it (I use Zig two way - it's removable if you let it dry clear) using a good light so you can see your print lined up against your tag. Hold it up to the light to make sure you've got it centered exactly the way you want, and then put your paper with your tag glued on it back through your printer. VOILA! Your printed sentiment is perfectly centered on your tag the way you want!
That's it for me today! Hope you're enjoying your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Wags 'n Whiskers challenge - scallops

Happy Friday everyone! YAY!!! We made it! I love Fridays! It's time for a new challenge from Wags 'n Whiskers, and this week, the challenge is from me and it's to use scallops. (could you tell by looking at my card?? LOL!) I chose to use this FABULOUS stamp called Water Babe. She's from the brand new release called Play Time from Wags 'n Whiskers!!

She's colored with Copic markers and cut out and popped up for dimension. For some reason, the color red really makes my camera pick up the mica that's in the paper I use. It's not that glittery in person. If you look at the pic below, that's what the card really looks like in real life. The glitter doesn't hit you in the face the way it does in these pictures. I used my Gypsy and Cricut Expression along with the Life's a Beach cartridge to cut the flip flops. They're popped up from the card base for dimension.

The papers are digi and they're calld Lil Red. I apologize as these were some of my very first digi papers before I realized I should be saving them in a file named for where I got them. I have no idea where I purchased these papers from. I apologize to the creator of it, cause I love the set of papers! Cardstock is Bazzill. The scalloped frame is from The Cutting Cafe' from a set called Assorted Scallops Set 1, and I cut them out wih my Pazzle that I purchased from Hallmark Scrapbook. The frame for Water Babe was cut using Nestabilities. That gorgeous bow was made using silk ribbon and the Bow Easy which are available at Stamp and Create. The cute charm was a gift from a Secret Valentine swap.

Please be sure and visit the rest of the Diva's over at the Wags 'n Whiskers challenge blog to see what fabulous creations they came up with for the scallops challenge! I promise that you are in for a treat!! Then we'd love it if you would create something with scallops for a chance to win a Wags 'n Whiskers stamp! But remember, you have to use a Wags 'n Whiskers image to win! That's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

This card is for sale HERE if you are interested. Thank you!

Papertake Weekly sketch challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time for a new Papertake Weekly challenge, and this week is sketch week which is being sponsored by Dies to Die for! That means we get another fabulous sketch from the marvelously talented Dawny! This week, I decided to use this adorable bird from Peggy Loves Vintage . She is from a brand new cd which is called Collection of Cuties. She's all decked out in her Spring attire and ready to take on the world!

I love using Peggy's images for my cards as it's sooo easy! You just print them out, add them to your card with whatever embellishments you want, and you can call it done! Talk about easy peasy!!! For this one, I added a beauitful silk ribbon and bow along with some fabulous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The papers are digi from Nitwits Spring Breeze and Spring Breeze Too. Cardstock is Bazzill.

I printed the bird out three times and layered her up twice and then gave it a litle 3d touch with the last layer. All the front panels are machine stitched as well.

Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly and check out all the lovely projects from the rest of the design team.! They are such a talented lot of fabulous ladies!! And then grab your paper and glue and play along with us! You might get lucky and win a wonderful prize from Dies to Die for.

Apple of my eye

Hi everyone! Time to go back to work after a long weekend. I wanted to make one more card this weekend, so I made a quick one from an awesome set of stamps from The Cutting Cafe' called Beautiful Trees. I printed it out and colored it with Copic markers. Then cut it out and popped it up from a circle cut with my Nestabilities. The papers are digital and the cardstock is Bazzill. The sentiment was printed from my computer and I added some machine stitching and some doodling. Added a punched border at the bottom, and that was it! Please be sure and pop over to The Cutting Cafe' to see all the fabulous stamps Regina has to offer. Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! hugs!

One last Easter card with the new Tilda Magnolia stamps

A very Happy Easter to all of you that celebrate it. And to those that don't, a very happy Spring! I have one last Easter card to show you using the adorable new Hoppy Easter/Spring collection from Magnolia-licious. This one feaures the cutie pie Hello Tilda. Isn't she too precious? Doesn't look like she's in stock right now, so just email Diana and ask her about it. She's colored with Copic markers. Those fabulous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (painted with some angel wings shimmerz) and the fun papers are from Nitwits Hoppy Hearts. That cute little charm is of a chick hatching out of an egg.

The swirls were cut using my Gypsy with my Cricut Expression using the Sweethearts cart. I love those swirls. Added some stickles to them and then popped on some Kaiser pearls to dress it up a bit. That's about it for this one. Hope you're enjoying your day, no matter what you're doing! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!!!

April Design Team Challenge for Magnolia-licious

It's the beginning of the month, and that means that it's time for a new Design Team challenge! This month, we've got an awesome sketch provided by the lovely and talented Claudia Rosa! I used four, yes I said four, stamps from Diana at Magnolia-licious to create this card. And there's tons of dimension which you know I love. The stamps I used are #3047 Tilda with newly hatched chicken (she's not in stock right now), #521 Butterfly background, That cute little fence with the hearts in it (not in stock right now), and then I stamped just the sidewalk portion of #633 Houses on street and cut out what I wanted of it for Tilda to stand on. If your interested in either of the stamps that aren't in stock, just email Diana and ask her about them.

All the stamps are colored with Copic markers. The fence and sidewalk are popped up from the background stamp, and Tilda is popped out even further from the fence. I just love making fun cards!! I have to tell you though, I am so in love with all of these Easter stamps!! But since Easter is already here, I wanted to try and use them for something else. So since the chick is hatching, I figured a birthday card might be good, and the on the inside, it says "Happy Birthday! You're still a Spring chick!" Whatcha think? Is it too corny????
The Happy Birthday sentiment stamp is from The Cutting Cafe' from a set called All Occasion Circle Word Set 1. I just printed it out at the size I wanted, and cut it out with my Nestabilities. The butterflies were cut using my Gypsy and Cricut Expression using the Tear Drop cartridge. I just added some Kaiser pearls to them. I also added a silk ribbon bow made using my Bow Easy.
That's it for today! Please be sure and visit Magnolia-licious Highlights to see the rest of the Design Teams creations using Claudia's sketch! We'd love it if you would join in and play along with us! Thanks so much for visiting me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
