Papertake Weekly - Christmas Crackers

Hey everyone! It's the Tuesday before Thanksgiving! If you're in the states, are you getting ready to stuff yourself as well as that turkey?? I know I sure am! My dear Mom instilled a love of Thanksgiving in me. It was always such a wonderful family Holiday when everyone spent the day together eating and having a fabulous time.  So anyway, onto the reason you're here! It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week the challenge is Christmas Crackers sponsored by Digital Delights. Dawny is asking you to make your Christmas favorites, and penguins and snowflakes are a couple of my faves. And so is wishing upon a star. I love helping the grandkids wish upon the first star they see at night.

I do love Christmas penguins, and this little cutie from Wild Rose Studio is one of the cutest!!! LOVE him!! He's colored with Copic markers and then cut out with circle Nesties and framed with petite scalloped Nesties. The papers I used are Basic Grey matted with Bazzill cardstock.  The trees are a stamp from Magnolia-licious, but I don't see them in stock right now.

Peeking out from behind the trees is a strip of snowflakes glittered up with Stickles from a Martha Stewart punch. I also used a MS iccle border punch, also glittered up with Stickles. The large snowflake was cut with my Cricut Expression and Christmas cartridge from Hallmark Scrapbook. There's lots of machine stitching as well.

I took this picture before I added the snowflake strip on the inside of the card. But this shows you a little of the dimension on the card. The bow is made with May Arts silk ribbon and it's centered with a Wild Orchid Crafts flower and yet another Martha Stewart branch punch. So that's it for me today! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly and check out all the amazing creations by my teamies, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! If you're celebrating Thanksgiving this week, may you and your family have a wonderful Holiday! Don't forget to wish upon that star!! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious Count the Snowflakes Blog Hop!!

Hey everyone!! It's time for another blog hop with the Magnolia-licious Design Team, and this month the theme is "Anything but a card" to go along with the "Wrapped Up Holiday Challenge" contest  that Diana is running right now over at Magnolia-licious Highlites!!  And my gosh is she giving away a spectacular prize!!! You're gonna want to run over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog to check out all the details if you haven't already! Now if you've hopped here from the magnificently talented Cheryl, then you're on the right track! I've got a rather simple project for your enjoyment today, something that anyone can make using up your scraps of paper!!

I put together a cute little banner to hang across my scrap area bulletin board for the holidays.  And along with that, I also made place cards for the Christmas dinner table. I was able to just use scraps of paper I had in my stash.  Now the contest stipulates that you must use Mini #3001 Wrapped Tilda and Mini #3002 Unwrapped Tilda in your project. And Diana has helped you by putting them on special when you buy them together !! And not only that, but she is offering a large selection of Mini's on special right now! So be sure and check them all out, and don't forget to make out your list for Santa, too!!  Along with those two, I used Mini #161 Lightening Edwin for place cards for the guys.

For the banner, I used my Cricut and Christmas cartridge for the Christmas lights that Mini #3001 Wrapped Tilda is sitting on.  She's colored in reds and golds and then simply cut out and popped up. I also spelled out the word JOY.

For the place cards, I again used my Cricut and Elegant Edges cartridge to cut out the shape of the card. Then used Nestabilities to cut out Mini #3002 Unwrapped Tilda, and Nestabilities labels for the name plate.  Those buttons are true vintage buttons I found in a very old jar in an antique shop.  Now it's time for you to visit the extremely talented Angie to see what she's created for you today! Thanks so much for joining us in the hop and I can't wait to see your gorgeous creations for the contest! Have a wonderful day! Hugs!

PaperPlay Challenge - shaped card

Hey everyone!  This is really late, but I've been sick all week and just haven't had the energy to do anything.  There's a new challenge up over at PaperPlay Challenges and it's for a shaped card. No squares or rectangles. We're being sponsored by Meljen's Designs this week. So as I usually do with shaped cards, I turned to my Cricut Expression and went with the Wild Card  cartridge.

I used one of the new Magnolia images from the Sweet Christmas Dreams collection which is in stock and available right now at Magnolia-licious! She is #277 Halo Tilda and she's colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out and popped up from the card base. This was truly a very quick and simple card to make, which I really needed as I just have NOT had my mojo this week at all.

So please pop over to PaperPlay challenges to check out the rest of the fabulous designs by my teamies, then show us your shaped cards for a chance to win a prize from Meljen's Designs. Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Cards with a difference!

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly, and this week, it's "cards with a difference"! When is a card not a card? When it's a ......   do one that could double up as a gift ie stationery holder, wallet, bag card, etc.  We're being sponsored this week by none other than The Ribbon Girl!!   I looked around the internet and found a really cool card that hides a chipboard gift card inside that was made by Scrappydesigns! I LOVED hers, so decided to give one a whirl. It was actually quite easy to make. I didn't even have to have a practice run, which is almost never heard of in my little world of crafting. LOL!  Here's a link to the video on how to make it. And here's what I came up with.

I used one of the adorable images from the new Sweet Christmas Dreams Magnolia collection which is available at Magnolia-licious! The BEST place to buy your Magnolia stamps and dies! And have you heard that Diana is also now carrying Memory Box dies??? They're up for preorder right now so RUSH over to place your order! I colored #3055 Something For You Tilda with Copic markers and then popped her up on a frame cut with Nestabilities. I also used the lucious Sweet Christmas Dreams Paper Pack from Magnolia-licious!

She's stamped onto Cryogen White and then colored with Copic markers,  Skin: E13, 11, 01, 00; clothes: R22, 24, 27, 59; T grays on the fur trim and E20's on her hair.  I just am really in love with this new Sweet Dreams Collection!!  The flowers and corners are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I used a Velcro closure on the card, and when you open it up, there's a chipboard gift card holder inside. This was so much fun and easy to make! I couldn't find a tree to match the one in the video and every other tree I tried wasn't wide enough at the bottom to hold the gift card very well. So I took my Gypsy, and stacked three triangles and joined them together. Easy peasy!! Cut them out of chipboard and then used some Basic Grey scrap paper I had sitting here. I used a sentiment and snowman from a set of Recollections stamps from Michaels.

I just put a hole in the top of the chipboard pieces using my Crop-a-dile and then set a couple of eyelets in the holes for strength.  The card slips right into the cut out green pocket you can see there. The pocket is held securely in place with 1/4" Scor Tape! There's no other choice of adhesives when you want to make sure it's not going to come apart!!  So that's it for me today! Please be sure and hop over to Papertake Weekly to see the gorgeous creations by my oh-so-talented teamies! And then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Christmas Cards!

Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday! We've got Monday under our belts, and that's always a good thing as far as the work week is concerned, anyway. LOL!  So it's time for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly! Wow, we had an outstanding turnout for our challenge last week! Thanks so much to everyone that played along!! This week the challenge is Christmas cards and we're being sponsored by Dies to Die For! So here's my contribution this week.  This is actually the card I designed for my Coloring with Copics class in October.  I just LOVE this snowman!

Supplies used:
coloring medium - Copic  suit E07, 09, R02. T markers plus blender for fur; various earthtones for puppy and ground.
papers: Graphic 45 and Bazzil cardstock
doily by Cheery Lynn Designs
silk ribbon from May Arts
jingle bells from stash
sentiment - Whimsy Stamps
Machine stitching

Hope you'll pop by Papertake Weekly to see all the rest of the amazing creations by my teamies! And then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

PaperPlay Challenges - Button up!

Hey everyone! Today is my week for PaperPlay Challenges, and this week the new challenge is "button up"! We're being sponsored by the awesome shop Simon Says Stamp!   Now I have a very large order for some wedding cards, so needed to get a few done. So I took some creative liberties with the challenge and counted her dress buttoning up the back. Sure hope it's ok, Sandie!!

I used a beautiful image by Mo Manning at Digital Pencil and colored it with Copic markers. I've seen people using different sized pearls around their images around blog land, and thought that would look pretty cool with a wedding image like this. What do you think?

There's LOTS of Diamond Stickles and all the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The bow is made from May Arts silk ribbon and I put another flower in the center of that. The inside is decorated to match, but I was in too big a hurry and just too tired to get a picture of it. Sorry!

So that's it for me today. Please be sure and visit PaperPlay challenges to see the rest of the fabulous creations by my teamies! Then play along for a chance to win!! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Have a wonderful day! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Hey everyone!! Hope you're having a wonderful week so far! So are you full of chocolate?  We dressed up as zombies at work yesterday and it was too fun! Everyone looked awesome! I taught a Copic coloring class last night, so my costume went straight from work to class. Boy did I get some strange looks on my way to class. LMBO!  So anyway, it's time for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly, and this week is one of your favorites. It's anything goes! There is an option of adding bling and sparkle if you want. We are being sponsored by Lili of the Valley!! Who doesn't love Lili of the Valley??!!  So anyway, this is what I've come up with.

Now tell me, are you not just totally LOVING the new Magnolia Sweet Christmas Dreams collection? They are in stock and available right now at Magnolia-licious!! Have you ever done business with Diana? Her prices and service are the BEST, and she has both the full size stamps PLUS the mini's!! Be sure to pop over and check it all out! You will be really happy you did!! And this new collection.....Oh my goodness, I love and want each and every one of them!! This little beauty is #3084 Tilda with Hellebores! She's on re-order right now and will be back in the store soon! She's one of those fabulous images that can be used any time of year.  I also used a Magnolia Doohickey die for that awesome flourish, #4 Leaf and Swirl die.

This card went to my oldest daughter for her Birthday. Tilda is stamped onto Cryogen White and colored with Copic markers then cut out with circle and petite scalloped Nestabilities. Those yummy papers were a gift from my friend, Regina, and they're matted with Bazzil cardstock.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the leaves are courtesy of a Martha Stewart punch. Isn't that lace so yummy? It's more of my fabulous find in Illinois, and I just used my Bow Easy to help me make a bow with it. I don't know how I survived without my Bow Easy! LOL!

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and cut out with more Nestabilities, and the layers are machine stitched with my Kenmore sewing machine.  One more view of the card....

So that's it for me today! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the fabulous creations by my amazingly talented teamies! And then we'd really love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Copic colors:  clothes and boots YG91, 93, 95, 99 with T's to shade the white. Hair - Y32, E31, E33.  Skin: E13, 11, 01, 00.  Sorry, can't remember what I colored the flowers with.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Totally Tilda - use leaves of some kind in your project

Papertake Weekly - it's sketch week!

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful start to the new week. I am astounded at the fact that it's the last week in October! Oh my goodness....the Holidays are right around the corner! So with that little bit of stress added to my plate, it's time for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly!  I would find it very hard to believe if you've never used one of Dawny's fabulous sketches before! She's the QUEEN of sketches! And I love them! As it's the last Tuesday of the month, that means we are sponsored by none other than Simon Says Stamp!!

Have you seen the new Sweet Christmas Dreams Magnolia stamps yet? They are available right now over at Magnolia-licious!!  Diana has the best selection of Magnolia images and has the best service around! So do yourself a favor and hurry over there to grab your favorites before they're sold out! Oh my goodness, the entire collection is FABULOUS! This particular little cutie pie is #3058 Sweet Christmas Tilda, and she's available in both regular AND the mini version as well!!!  I think she could be used for any time of the year, not just for Christmas. I love the stamps that are really versatile that way.  I've perched her on top of the candy cane from last year's Christmas images, #1409 Peppermint, which is also available in the mini version. The sentiment is #723 Sweet Christmas Dreams.  And YIKES!!! This card was completely finished, I only had one snowflake left to add. So I'm inking the edges of the snowflake with my little Cat's Eye chalk ink pad, and what happens but it slips right out of my hand and lands right on top of Tilda's face!!!!!!!! YIKES! At the time, I didn't think it left any mark. But I can see the ever so fine line left behind from it now! Guess she will have to be replaced.

I've colored them both with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out and popped them on top of a circle cut with Nesties. I've framed the circle with lace I got while visiting the most amazing sister in the world . That gorgeous paper is by Pion and was sent to me from my friend Christina!! Thanks so much, Christina!! I've been just chomping at the bits to be able to use it, and I finally made my first Christmas card of the season. It's sooooo luxurious!!! It's matted with Bazzil cardstock and then machine stitched. I also added a few Martha Stewart snowflakes centered with a tiny little heart.

So that's it for me today! I hope you have time to pop over to Papertake Weekly and check out all the amazing work from my Design Team sisters! Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon!
Hugs!

PaperPlay Challenges - BOO!

Hi everyone! It's Thursday and it's my week over at PaperPlay Challenges. This week we're sponsored by Waltzing Mouse Stamps and the challenge is to use the color black in your project. Well I love using black, even when it's not Halloween time! So this was an easy challenge for me. But I wanted to make a fun Halloween card anyway.

I used a fun High Hopes image called Sitting Witchy Poo that I got from Stamp and Create. She's colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out and popped on top of the black oval cut with Nesties. The ribbon is May Arts, the drippy goo punch is Martha Stewart, and the DP is from Nitwit Collections. That fabulous banner is a die from Whimsy Stamps and then I cut out the letters for BOO with the Cricut. The colors are so bright and bold that I really had a hard time getting a picture of this on. It really does look MUCH better IRL than it does in this pic. The shades of oranges and yellows seems to be lost on the pumpkin.

The twine threaded through the banner is from The Twinery. The charm is from Stamp and Create and the pearls were done with an orange Pearl Pen.

So that's it for me today! Please be sure to visit PaperPlay Challenges to see the rest of the awesome creations by my design team sisters, and then we'd love it if you'd join the challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

I have entered this into the following challenges:
High Hopes Challenge Blog - use ribbon, lace, or twine (2 out of 3 ain't bad!!) LOL!

Papertake Weekly - Spooky Hues!

Hi everyone! It's Tuesday which means it's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly! This week, Dawny is asking you to use Spooky Hues on your project. It's your choice if you want to actually make a Halloween card, but you have to use the colors. We're sponsored this week by the fabulous shop The Ribbon Girl!!  Here's what I came up with for it.

I used a fabulous Kraftin Kimmie image called Hattie! LOOOVE her! LOL! She's colored with Copic markers and then cut out using Nesties.  The papers are from a stack from last year and the cardstock is Bazzil. The ghosties are from an old Sizzix die I've had for ages.  Oh, and see those three black pearls at the bottom of the card? Those were made with my new pearl pens! I am soooo impressed with these pens! I love how they round out!! So what do you think...does she look like she's had a rough time of it??

The BOO was cut out using the Cricut Expression and Mini Monsters cartridge and then I just used a white gel pen around it to help define it a little. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the spooky fence. I honestly can not remember where I got those fabulous skeleton charms from, but I LOVE them! This was just a really fun card to make!

So that's it for me! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to check out all my fabulously talented design team sistahs to see the gorgeous creations they've got for your viewing pleasure. Then we'd really love it if you'd grab your spooky papers and glue and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you  back again soon! Hugs!

I've entered this into the Kraftin Kimmie challenge which is to use your favorite KK stamp. Now tell me this, how do you choose??? They're ALL my favorites!!

OK!! It's time for the "We have only 'One Life to Live' 'As the World Turns' at 'General Hospital' with the 'Young and the Restless' that are 'All My Children' featuring Nurse Tilda and Doctor Edwin" blog hop!!

LMBO!!! How is THAT for a title of a blog hop??? Hi everyone!! Sure hope you've had a wonderful weekend!! I know I sure did! And now it's time for our monthly blog hop at Magnolia-licious!! This month we're featuring the fabulous and exclusive Doctor Edwin! He's so dang cute and he's only avaialble from Diana at Magnolia-licious! I'm sure my Design Team Sista's have conjured up some GORGEOUS creations for your viewing pleasure today! If you've arrived here from the awesomely talented Suzanne, then you're on the right track. If not, you'll want to go back to Magnolia-licious Highlites so you don't miss a single thing! Now I'll be honest....I struggled with this challenge (which is kind of funny since I was the one that suggested it! LOL!!). I wanted to do something a little different, and just couldn't come up with any ideas that I liked. So I was perusing through the Scor-Pal blog and saw the cutest tissue box cover and that's when it hit me. Tissue box holder....Doctor Edwin....a perfect match!!! So that's what I did! First, HERE'S the one that inspired me, and then HERE are the directions.  This is my version.

I LOVE these tissue box covers and it was really easy to make. I used #000 Doctor Edwin, and #307 Nurse Tilda from The Winner Takes It All collection. Both of these images are also available in the mini version. Magnolia-licious has the best selection of Magnolia images!! Couple that with awesome service and  the fabulous discounts Diana gives, and you've got a combination that can't be beat!!!  I also used #3 Tilda Lace Doohickey Cutting Die.

Doctor Edwin and Nurse Tilda were stamped onto Cryogen White paper and colored with Copic markers. I then fussy cut them out and popped them up on a base of kraft cardstock. That is then popped up onto  a scalloped frame cut with Nesties. The polka dot paper is an old digi paper that I got before I started being smart and saving it under the name of the maker. All I know is it's called Lil' Red and I apologize to the creator of this wonderful set of digital papers. I wish I could find her again cause I loved her papers and would buy more. So if anyone has any info, I would greatly appreciate your help.

I used the Cricut Expression and Elegant Edges to make the cut out for the tissues on the top. The strip across the sides of the lid were done by printing Bless you onto Bazzill cardstock, cutting the strips, and then popping them up from the base. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are cut using #18 Rose Leaf, another Magnolia Doohickey Cutting Die. And I've added the "artsy fartsy" view.

So that concludes my post for today. Now it's time for you to hop over to see what the Magnificent Mindy created for you! Thanks so much for joining us in our hop today! I hope you join the fun for a chance to win a wonderful prize from Diana at Magnolia-licious! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!! Hugs!!

Papertake Weekly - Get in Shape!

Updated to post that DORA is the winner of the Lili of the Valley voucher! CONGRATS Dora! Please  contact Dawny to claim your prize! Thanks again to everyone for joining us in our celebration!!

Oh wow, could I ever follow the advise of this weeks challenge!! LMBO! I NEED to get in shape. But ok...who wouldn't rather spend the time getting inky and having fun??!! I mean, really! LOL! I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped us celebrate Papertake Weekly's  4th birthday last week! We had an awesome turnout for the hop and we truly appreciate your support! We wouldn't be here if it weren't for you! So THANK YOU!!!  Now it's time to move on to the new challenge this week, and Dawny has asked us to "get in shape" by using three different shapes on your card. Your card base can count as one.  I  used more than three, but that's ok as long as you have at least three. Here's what I came up with

I have been wanting to color up this cutie since I got her forever ago! Of course I would use it for a Birthday card for one of my most favorite person in the whole world. :)  She's Angelina's Balloons from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed her onto Cyrogenic White paper from The Paper Temptress, and then colored her with Copic markers. Clothes and balloons - E97, 99, and 17;  skin - E11, 01, 00;  hair - Y21 and E33;  and T2, 4, and blender pen for the bloomers and socks.  For her cheeks, I used pink chalks after I was done coloring.  She's cut out with oval Nesties (one of my shapes) using the out of the box technique for the balloons.  I covered the balloons with some glossy accents and then sprinkled some fine glitter on them while they were wet.

The doily behind her is from a Cheery Lynn Designs doily die (another one of my shapes), then I added a rectangle panel that is bordered by a Martha Stewart punch, and added  the banner (Whimsy Stamps) up in the right corner (two more shapes).  See that flower? That was made with my newest Cricut cartridge The Flower Shoppe. I buy all my Cricut cartridges from Hallmark Scrapbook. They have the best prices and customer service, period!  I can tell I'm really going to love this cartridge and use it a lot! The leaves are from another Martha Stewart punch.

Oh man....looking at this close up shows how bad my eyes are getting! LOL!  The papers I used are VERY VERY old Daisy D's that I've had in my stash for probably four or more years. I used Bazzill cardstock as well as some kraft. The sentiment was computer generated and then just cut out and popped up.

So that's it for me today. Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the rest of the amazing creatons by my teamies, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hug!
