Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes!!

Hey everyone!!! Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! Can you believe it's 2012?! Well, it's the first Tuesday of the month, and that means it's a new challenge from Papertake Weekly. We're sponsored by Lili of The Valley, and we have an optional extra of making a card FOR something new (house, baby, year, etc), or USING something new.  For my card, I used one of my new Lili of the Valley stamps.

DP's are We R Memory Keepers matted with Bazzill cardstock. The image is Milly Cuddle Time colored with Copic markers and then cut out with circle and petite scalloped circle Nestabilities.  The flourish is a Magnolia Doohickey die.  The bow is made with May Arts silk ribbon and the flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the gorgeous creations by my talented teamies, and then we'd really love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!!

Papertake Weekly - To Die For!!

This is my second post for today. If you're looking for the Magnolia-licious Blog Hop, please scroll down one post.  It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly! Dawny's challenge is to use something die cut (not punched) on your project. For this challenge, we're being sponsored by Dies to Die For, a fabulous shop and wonderful source for your die cutting needs!  For my card today, I'm using one of my new Little Darlings stamps! Is he not the absolute cutest??? Oh my gosh, I totally LOVE him!! And he was sooo easy to color! I'm sure I'm going to be a regular customer over at Love to Stamp!! LOL!

I stamped him on X Press It Blending Card and colored him with Copic markers, then he's cut out with a Nestabilities circle die and then matted on top of a petite scalloped Nestabilities die.  His britches are BG70's (one of my new favorite colors) which matched with the Basic Grey perfectly!  I colored the star with Y21, 23, and 26 and the skin is E11, 01, and 00.   For his shirt I used W1 under R30's.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley also cut out with Nestabilites. I used a Magnolia DooHickey die for the vertical trim. The Basic Grey papers are all matted with Bazzill cardstock, and then machine stitched.  For the ribbon treatment, I measured out a length of ribbon four times longer than the width of my card, and then basted it with two rows of stitches.  I then pulled the thread to gather up the ribbon and used double sided tape to hold it in place. I then attached a bow on top of that. What do you think? I kind of like it, but don't look too close! I need to get some colored thread! LOL! This is not the kind of thing to use white thread with. LMBO!

So that's it for me today! Please be sure to pop over to Papertake Weekly to check out all the fabulous creations by my teamies, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Getting Cute

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful start to your week! We went to see Harry Potter yesterday and it was awesome! I went with my oldest daughter and son (we're all Harry Potter freaks - LOL!)  It's so sad though, knowing that this is the last one.  So anyway, it's time for a new challenge from Dawny at Papertake Weekly, and this week it's "Getting Cute". This challenge is being sponosred by Wendy's Digital Delights.  For my card this week, I totally fell in love with Dawny's card HERE, and CASEd it. Thanks (as always) for the wonderful inspiration, Dawny!

I colored this little cutie hAnglar & stAnglar about a month ago, and have been wanting to use her on a card. Usually I work the other way around, pick the papers and then color the image. It's so much easier that way!  This layout was a Papertake Challenge a couple weeks ago that I missed, and I so love Dawny's sketches! So I simply utitlized it for this weeks challenge. She's colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up off the panel. The DP's are from Nitwit Collections matted with Bazzill cardstock. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon is May Arts from Stamp and Create, as is the charm. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and cut out with Nestabilities. I machine stitched the panels, and added a couple buttons from my stash. I've had some of you ask questions about my stitching and how I do it. I use a cheap machine I bought from Sears about three or four years ago (It's a Kenmore brand). It only does a couple stitches, but all I wanted was straight and zig zag so the lack of fancy stitches was not important to me. It only cost me about 70 bucks, and it's probably the best 70 bucks I've ever spent. It is constantly used, and the stitches always look fabulous.

So that's it for me today! Please pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the wonderful inspiration, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop if you're interested!
