Papertake Weekly and Peggy Loves Vintage!

Happy Tuesday! I love it when Monday is behind us (except when I'm on vacation! LOL!) This week, we have a sketch challenge at Papertake Weekly by the amazing Dawny Phillips! And we're being sponsored by my awesome sister, Peggy Loves Vintage. Peggy has the most fantastic vintage images! These images are NOT clip art! She collects scrapbooks full of copyright free (now copyrighted by Peggy) vintage cards from the 40's, 50', and 60's, scans them in, cleans them up, and then makes them available to all of us on either cd or over the internet. Also, be sure to visit her blog. She has a couple free ADORABLE images available for you right now!! One of them is perfect for any Christmas project you've got going for US troops! Peggy sent Dawny some images for us to use for our sketch cards this week. I chose to use this adorable jolly Santa. This particular image was on a red background, and I didn't think it allowed Santa to shine enough, so I just cut him out and then popped him up for dimension. The papers I used are Basic Grey and Pink Petticoat digis. along with Bazzil cardstock. I also added some Kaiser pearls to the corners.

Vintage Santa Christmas card

This is yet another adorable Santa from the cd of vintage Santas by my sister Peggy! I totally LOVE this cd!!! I've had so much fun making cards with all the great Santas!! I just printed it out on Bazzill cardstock and then used my nesties to cut it out along with the scalloped mat.

I used Basic Grey paper, added some ribbon, a cute sentiment charm and some buttons from my stash. Oh, I also used one of my MS border punches as well!

Christmas card with Cricut and Vintage Santa

Here's another one of those amazing Santa's off my sister's cd! If you visit her site by clicking on the link, it's the 240 Vintage Santa Claus cd. I printed him out on Bazzill cardstock and then used an oval nestie to cut him out. This is one of the most beautiful Santa's I think I've ever seen. I really love how he turned out.

The paper and buttons are Basic Grey and the crdstock is Bazzill. I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the large scalloped edge across the bottom, and my Spellbinder dies for the scalloped ovals.

For the tag, I used the Cricut Tags Bags Boxes and More cartridge. Accented things with some chalk ink and that's about it.
