Papertake Weekly - pick of the year and my first go with Spectrum Noir

UPDATE!!! My very awesome and wickedly talented friend Sheri Willshire helped me get my blog back to normal! Thanks girlfriend! You are AWESOME!!!
Hi everyone!!  First to my regular visitors, I'm sorry...I don't know what is going on with my blog right now. I can't get my side bar back to the side. It popped down there all by itself without me making any kind of alterations on my blog. And it's decided it likes it down at the bottom I suppose, cause I just can't convince it to come back to it's proper spot. I'll keep trying!  I refuse to let a stupid computer get the best of me!! lol!! Now on to what this post is supposed to be about.  :D    It's time for a new challenge at Papertake Weekly, and this week it's another fun one!  You get to pick your favorite challenge of 2012!! Yep! Have fun! And we are sponsored by our very own amazingly talented Mary and Andrea from The Ribbon Girl! If you want the most gorgeous ribbon and embellies, then head straight there!!  For my card today, I have used the amazing image of Virginia  from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! I LOVE her!! And I've used her with the Three, Two, One Challenge. So I've used three poinsettias, two designer papers, and one super cute image! :)

Now this is my very first image I colored with the set of Spectrum Noir pens from Hallmark Scrapbook! I've got a lot to learn in figuring out the color combinations, but the colors are truly gorgeous! They are a very affordable and they blend beautifully! Please be sure to pop over to Hallmark Scrapbook to check out all the gorgeous colors and sets that Jody has available. You will be seeing more creations from me using these markers, and hopefully I'll get better at using them.

The papers are Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses matted with Bazzill cardstock. The poinsettias are from a Spellbinders die with some Stickles and pearl centers. That bow is made with May Arts silk ribbon and I added some pearls with the Viva Decor pearl pen. Please be sure and visit Papertake Weekly to see all the gorgeous creations by my teamies and or amazing Guest Designers! And then we'd really love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us for a chance to win an amazing prize from The Ribbon Girl! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Kraftin' Kimmie - anything but a card

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a fabulous start to your weekend! It' time for a new challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog, and this week our hostess with the mostest is the amazingly talented Angie!  Her challenge to us this week is to make anything but a card with your Kraftin' Kimmie stamps! Here's what I created for this awesome challenge!

Isn't she the cutest thang evah???!!! LOL! LOOOOVE her! She's Julie from the Moonlight Whispers line at Kraftin' Kimmie's.  I also used a Trinket from the Everyday Trinkets set which I adore!!  Julie is stamped with Memento ink onto X-Press It cardstock and then colored with Coipc markers. I cut her out and popped her up from the lid of the gift box. The sentiment "Let's Party" comes with her. FABULOUS!!

There's a little bit more of an angled view of the box, the trinkets are on each side of the box. The box was cut using the Cricut Expression and the Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge from Hallmark Scrapbook. The DP's are digital from Nitwit Collections and the cardstock is Bazzill.

Please be sure to pop over to Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog to check out all my talented teamies creations for you. You are sure to get some amazing inspiration! Also check out all the details on how to play along with us for a chance to win the image Angie used on her fantastic project (Miss Information), but don't forget you have to use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp to be eligible to win!!  Oh! And don't forget to check out Kimmie's Frugal Friday specials this week! She has six awesome stamps on sale for 40 - 50% off!!!! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Get in Shape!

Updated to post that DORA is the winner of the Lili of the Valley voucher! CONGRATS Dora! Please  contact Dawny to claim your prize! Thanks again to everyone for joining us in our celebration!!

Oh wow, could I ever follow the advise of this weeks challenge!! LMBO! I NEED to get in shape. But ok...who wouldn't rather spend the time getting inky and having fun??!! I mean, really! LOL! I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped us celebrate Papertake Weekly's  4th birthday last week! We had an awesome turnout for the hop and we truly appreciate your support! We wouldn't be here if it weren't for you! So THANK YOU!!!  Now it's time to move on to the new challenge this week, and Dawny has asked us to "get in shape" by using three different shapes on your card. Your card base can count as one.  I  used more than three, but that's ok as long as you have at least three. Here's what I came up with

I have been wanting to color up this cutie since I got her forever ago! Of course I would use it for a Birthday card for one of my most favorite person in the whole world. :)  She's Angelina's Balloons from Mo's Digital Pencil. I printed her onto Cyrogenic White paper from The Paper Temptress, and then colored her with Copic markers. Clothes and balloons - E97, 99, and 17;  skin - E11, 01, 00;  hair - Y21 and E33;  and T2, 4, and blender pen for the bloomers and socks.  For her cheeks, I used pink chalks after I was done coloring.  She's cut out with oval Nesties (one of my shapes) using the out of the box technique for the balloons.  I covered the balloons with some glossy accents and then sprinkled some fine glitter on them while they were wet.

The doily behind her is from a Cheery Lynn Designs doily die (another one of my shapes), then I added a rectangle panel that is bordered by a Martha Stewart punch, and added  the banner (Whimsy Stamps) up in the right corner (two more shapes).  See that flower? That was made with my newest Cricut cartridge The Flower Shoppe. I buy all my Cricut cartridges from Hallmark Scrapbook. They have the best prices and customer service, period!  I can tell I'm really going to love this cartridge and use it a lot! The leaves are from another Martha Stewart punch.

Oh man....looking at this close up shows how bad my eyes are getting! LOL!  The papers I used are VERY VERY old Daisy D's that I've had in my stash for probably four or more years. I used Bazzill cardstock as well as some kraft. The sentiment was computer generated and then just cut out and popped up.

So that's it for me today. Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the rest of the amazing creatons by my teamies, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hug!

The Cutting Cafe' - Mikala Ann being a good witch

Hi everyone! Oh my gosh, I am soooooo enjoying my long weekend! One more day to go! I made another book card today (to learn how to make it, just click on my tutorial tab above), and this one is a fun one featuring Mikala Ann  from the set Elisha Jean and friends being good witches from The Cutting Cafe'!  Isn't she soooo adorable????!

Her dress and hat is one of her accessory items. I colored her with Copic markers and then added some polka dots with a black Spice pen. LOVE her green and purple striped stockings!! LOL! The tree is cut using the Expression and Gypsy from the Mini Monsters cartridge  (now just 19.99 over at Hallmark Scrapbook!!!) . I used the "out of the box" technique to cut Mikala Ann out with circle Nesties.

Those cute bats you see are one of my very favorite Halloween images EVER! LOL! It's a Magnolia image I got from Diana over at Magnolia-licious!! I use this little bat on EVERYTHING I make for Halloween. I can't help it...it's just that crazed look he's got in his eyes. heehee

This card looks like a book from the outside, and then when you untie the yummy silk ribbon and open it up, there's a frame inside that can hold just about anything you want it to. I put some See's candy lollipops in this one. I had to cut part of the stick off for them to fit, but I like the way it turned out!  Because there's no place to write a personal note on the inside of this card, I added a pocket and tag on the left. The spider web was also cut from Mini Monsters. There's another one of those cute bats and then the two jack-o-lanterns are also from Magnolia-licious.

The papers I used are by jillibean soup called Monster Stew. The tag was cut with the Expression from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More. The busted up fence and drippy goo borders on the frame are both Martha Stewart border punches.

So that's it for me today! I had a lot of fun creating this one! Again, if you'd like to know how to create this book card, just click on my tutorial page above. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious Blog Hop - Black & White with a "pop" of color

Hi friends!! Hope you had a fabulous weekend, and that you're ready for a great week! It's time for a new Magnolia-licious Design Team blog hop, so if you've arrived here from the lovely and talented Barb, then you're in the right place! If not, pop on over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog for all the links to the hop. For our theme today, we were challenged by the Queen herself! Diana asked us to use black and white, with a "pop" of another color. Well of course mine had to be red.  I do love the color combo of  red, black, and white.

For my card, I used one of the brand new stamps from the Sweet Rainbow collection which is available right now over at Magnolia-licious! She is #264 Lying Tilda.  Now you might notice I only used half of her! I really like the entire stamp, but the top half of her is perfect for popping out of a frame! She's colored with Copic markers. I know her dress is the R20 family, and her skin is E11, 01, and 00. Can't remember what colors I used for her hair. Sorry!  For the frame, I used my new Cricut Cartridge, Elegant Edges.   For the sentiment, I chose to use a circle sentiment from Lili of the Valley cut out with circle Nesties and petite scalloped Nesties. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and that yummy bow was made with May Arts silk ribbon. I also added some Kaiser pearls in the corners for the finishing touch.

So that's it for me for the hop! Now if you're interested in maybe going shopping over at Magnolia-licious, leave a comment on this post and you'll be elligible to win a 20 dollar gift certificate to the shop! That should assist you with your shopping fun! I will draw a winner the weekend of the first as I will be out of town for the next week. Now it's time to hop on over to visit the oh so talented Suzanne. I know she's got something gorgeous for you to feast your eyes on! Thanks so much for joining us in the hop today!  Please be sure and visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog so you can see how you can participate and win a fabulous prize from Diana! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - White and Bright(s)

Welcome to Tuesday! It always feels good to get the Monday workday behind me. It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly. This week, the new challenge is White and Bright, and we're being sponsored by Whiff of Joy!!  So you have to use white along with a bright color or colors. I don't think you can get much brighter than these bright, fun, Basic Grey papers! This adorable image is a digi image from Karen's Doodles called Movie Date, and I fell in love with it the first time I ever saw it! I had to have it. I've entered this card into the challenge over at Karen's Doodles Challenge Blog which is "Anything goes".  This is the card I made for my hubby for our anniversary. Of course the outside says "Admit Two" and the inside says "To a life of happily ever after filled with comedy, drama, lots of love stories and "scenes behind the curtains"

I think I got just about everything I used for this card (other than the image) from Hallmark Scrapbook. The image is colored with Copic markers and the Ticket and tab were cut using my Cricut Expression, Gypsy, and Fabulous Finds cartridge. Did you see the price on this cart????  $24.99 at Hallmark Scrapbook! Unbelievable!! Just click on the link and it will take you right there. Please be sure and visit Papertake Weekly to see the rest of the designers fabulous creations with bright colors, and then grab your paper and glue and play along with us for a chance to win a fabulous prize from Whiff of Joy! Wags 'n Whiskers - Ribbon challenge

Happy Friday!! And you know what Friday means....yep! It's time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge! This week, our challenge from the fabulously talented Lacey, and she's asking us to use ribbon on our projects. Well....I think most of you probably know that's not much of a challenge for me! LOL! And that's because I use the fabulous May Arts silk ribbon that is available in Lacey's shop, Stamp and Create! For this challenge, I immediately thought of Mother's Day, and then of this adorable stamp of Ryan called Just For You! I don't think there could be a more precious and perfect image for Mother's Day! He's colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up from the card base for dimension.

The sentiment is from a fabulous set of stamps from Regina over at The Cutting Cafe' called Happy Mother's/Mum's Day Huge circle set. Great for quick, easy, and awesome cards for Mother's Day. Each panel is machine stitched, and that fabulous ribbon and charm are available at Stamp and Create. The papers are Nitwits and the tag was cut with my Expression and the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge. Please be sure to visit the rest of my DT sisters to see all the awesomeness they created for this challenge!
Then join us at Wags 'n Whiskers challenge blog to play along for the chance of winning a new stamp! But remember - You have to use a Wags 'n Whiskers stamp to win! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Cutie Pie

Hi everyone! We made it through Monday, and now it's on to Tuesday! And that means it's time for another challenge from Dawny at Papertake Weekly. This week's challenge is Cutie Pie! Well when I saw this adorable digi image called Loves Healing Hands Girl stamp from Sassy Cheryl's, I thought she was a true Cutie Pie. I was commissioned by a friend and co-worker to make her a Mother's Day card, and this is what I came up with. I sure hope she likes it!

See the lace across the center? I hand crocheted that myself, and will be selling them on etsy if you're interested in them. I make them about seven inches long, and they're between 1-1/4" to 1- 1/2" wide and about 7" long (I could make it longer if you want). I just tucked the edges under the cardstock using Zip dry glue. I hope to be making different patterns, so if you're interested, please check back every once in a while.

The image is colored with Copic markers. Cardstock is Bazzill, and the DP is Basic Grey. I added some machine stitching, and some gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I painted the flowers with some Angel Wings Shimmerz (LOVE that stuff!!), and added some Smooch to parts of the image like the bears eyes, her shoe buckles, and buttons on her dress. I finished it off with some lovely silk ribbon and charm that are available at Stamp and Create. The sentiment tag was just typed up on my computer and then printed on a tag I cut using my Gypsy and Cricut Expression. The tag is from the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge. All of these are available at Hallmark Scrapbook.

Because of the roses, the card won't fit into an envelope, so I made an envelope box for it. I used paper to match the card along with matching cardstock for the scalloped edges (Martha Stewart doily lace punch) and more of the silk ribbon. Doesn't it make the yummiest looking bows ever??!!! Like I said before, I so enjoy making cards, and I like the cards I make (usually-LOL!). But every once in a while, there comes one that I really, really love and have a hard time parting with. This is one of them.

Please be sure and visit Papertake Weekly to check out the rest of the designers take on the challenge as well as the sponsor for this weeks challenge! You are in for a true treat! Then we'd love you to grab your paper and glue and play along with us! You might even get lucky and win a prize! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

The paper is from Kaiser Craft and the cardstock is Bazzill. Those amazing flowes are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and I painted some Angel Wings Shimmerz on them. The card base was cut using my Gypsy with my Cricut Expression and the Wild Card cartridge. I added some Kaiser pearls, a silk ribbon bow made with my Bow Easy, and some diamond Stickles around the edge of the card as well as her little tiara head band.

I love you forever!

Happy Sunday everyone! I wanted to show you this quick card I made combining Peggy Loves Vintage, The Cutting Cafe', and my Cricut and Gypsy. I started out by making a scalloped heart shaped card with my Gypsy and the Gypsy Wanderings cart that I got from Hallmark Scrapbook. I then added this adorable Valentine ducky (from volume 1) from Peggy Loves Vintage Valentine CD, and fiished it off with a cute conversation heart from a file called All About Valentines from The Cutting Cafe'. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek, and don't forget to check back tonight for my Bitten By The Bug project! hugs!!

Happy Birthday Nicki and an adorable card from The Cutting Cafe'!!!!

Happy Friday everyone! Today is my oldest daughter's birthday! Happy Birthday Nicki! I love you so much and we're so proud of the beautiful woman you've turned out to be! Hope you have the best birthday ever!! I fell in love with this adorable image of Cinderella by Mo Manning when I first saw her on Pam's blog, and had to immediately purchase her! Nicki is such a hard little worker, and I just thought it would be too cute to make a birthday card for her with Cinderella! I even cased the sentiment from Pam too! Thanks Pam!! :) She's colored with my copic markers. The tag, scalloped circle set, and scalloped frame for the stamped image were all cut with the Cricut Expression using the Storybook cartridge and Tage, Bags, Boxes, and more cartridge. The inside says "may all your birthday dreams and wishes come true".

This next adorable card is a new mitten shaped card that is available at The Cutting Cafe'. I just think this is the cutest mitten card ever!! And it even comes with an envelope template that is the perfect size for the card! I used Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses which I got from Hallmark Scrapbook, and cut the card with my Pazzle Inspiration. The word circle is also from The Cutting Cafe' from a set called Christmas Circle Set 2. I just cut it out using circle Nestabilities. The snowflake on the inside was cut from the Winter Woodland cartridge.

That's it for today ladies! Hope you've enjoyed the cards and have a wonderful Friday! HUGS!!

Bitten By The Bug - monster challenge

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Mine went WAY too fast for my liking. But there's not much I can do about that. Back to work tomorrow and wait for the next one, I guess. *smiles* It's time to reveal the new challenge from Regina over at Bitten By The Bug. This week, she asked us to use this cute little monster from Paper Dolls Dress Up from Hallmark Scrapbook. Isn't it just so cute??!!! I now have tons of ideas running through my head for this cute little hairy creature. For my submission to the DT creations, I paired this cute little monster with some stamps from The Cutting Cafe', Eat, Drink, and be scary came from Halloween Labels, and the Trick or Treat frame is from Halloween Card Borders. The paper is from a pack by Recollections from Michael's. I also added some drippy goo thanks to a Martha Stewart border punch. The little flowers are from a little Marvy punch and there is an orange dew drop in the center. (they photographed as though they are black, but they are not)

After doing my DT submission, I had to throw this quick little card together with this adorable monster. And I have even so many more ideas floating around in this head! I mean...how fun is this?!! I sure hope you take the time to visit Bitten By The Bug to see the rest of the DT take on this fun challenge, and then grab your paper and glue and play along with us. Thanks for visiting me today, and see you on Tuesday with a new challenge from Papertake Weekly! HUGS!
