Papertake Weekly - it's sketch week!
Hi friends! It's Tuesday already and it's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly! This week it's time for one of Dawny's fabulous sketches! (I love her sketches!) We're being sponsored this week by the fabulous Whiff of Joy!! For my card, I chose to work with one of my new Magnolia stamps from Magnolia-licious, #112 Edwin with Package. He's from the brand new Merry Christmas 2010 collection which is available right now! I paired him with the dock which is not in stock right now. Please contact Diana if you're interested in it. They're colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up from the card for dimension.
I used Bazzill cardstock for the base and all matting, and the PP are from Nitwit Collections, and there is lots of machine stitching too! Please be sure and pop over to Paprtake Weekly to check out the rest of my Design Team sisters fabulous creations this week. Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for making Papertake Weekly the #1 blog on Wikio again! We surely could not do it without you!! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Kraftin Kimmie - How Distressing!!!
Oh my gosh, you have no idea how excited I am!!! I was asked to be a Krafty Guest for the month of November for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!! I think I probably blew her away with how fast I screamed YES! LOL! I love, love, love her stamps!! So I'm totally excited to say that today is my first posting. The challenge hostess for this week is the amazingly talented Tara, and the challenge is "How Distressing"! If you want a chance to win the stamp featured on Tara's card, please be sure and play along with the challenge! Just pop over HERE for all the details. My card is very simplistic, but man did I ever distress the heck out of it!! For my image, I used the beautiful Clara. I adore her outfit and colored it up with Copic Sketch markers. I used lots of chalk ink around the edges of the paper, and then I got out my scissors. By the time I was distressing the last layer, my hands were cramping so bad that I couldn't seperate my fingers! I need to look into one of those new distressing tools. Shopping time!!! LOL!
Look what I did to that pretty pink silk ribbon! There oughta be a law!! LOL! I dripped Copic refill ink onto it, and then I simply used a marker on it until it looked dirty enough to me. For the next step, I grabbed my scissors again and it felt like a slasher flick the way I was going at the poor ribbon! LOL! For a final touch, I took my Copic marker and "flicked" it with my finger over the top of Clara's image to try and splatter some random dark spots. I'm thinking it would have worked a little better had I first dripped a couple drops of refill ink onto the tip of the marker. The cardstock is Bazzill and the PP is from Nitwits. Be sure and do yourself a favor by going over to Kraftin' Kimmie's blog to check out the gorgeous creations by the rest of the design team. And then be sure and join us in the challenge for a chance to win!! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Penny for the Guy!
It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week it's all about cards for boys/men! We're sponsored this week by the fabulous Whiff of Joy!! Masculine cards are usually really hard for me, so this time I challenged myself to make two! Here's the first one that is using a digital image from Just Inklined over at ImageEnation. I love their stamps!!! I've had this duck for what seems like forever, and decided I was going to use it as soon as I saw the new challenge. I colored him with Copic markers to match the Basic Grey bird paper that I used. The bright yellow polka dot paper is PTI. I just printed the sentiment from my computer and cut it out with Nesties. It's what I see him saying with the look that is on his face. LOL!
For card two, I used an image from Peggy Loves Vintage. This is one of those cards that took me about five minutes to make. The images are from the Birthday Volume 1 cd, and I printed both the front along with the inside of the card too! I just printed them, matted them, and then added a punched border and then LOOK! I used some of my rain dots that I bought about two years ago when they were so popular! LOL! That's all that was added to this card!
Please pop over to Papertake Weekly to see what the rest of the amazing design team has created, and then we'd love it if you would grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

It's time for a new Design Team challenge over at Magnolia-Licious, and this month we're being hosted by the extremely talented and awesome Barb Hardeman. Barb challenged us to "make a shaker". I LOVE shaker cards! For mine, I chose to use one of my all time favorite Tildas, #310 Waiting Tilda (not in stock right now) and the sled she's sitting on appears to be out of stock as well. Please just email Diana if you're interested in it. They're colored with Copic markers.

Wags 'n Whiskers - Black and White challenge plus there's a change in the challenges!
Happy Friday!!! I'm super excited about our new challenge from Wags 'n Whiskers today!! Our fabulously talented Angelique has asked us to make a black and white project. I'm so excited becuase it's something I've never tried before. I honestly didn't know if I'd be able to color an entire scene with just six different markers all in the same color family! But I did it! What do you think? I used the adorable Sammie's Surprise along with a Magnolia background image and a Tim Holtz fence die, and I colored them all with the cool greys. Now while I went the cutesy route, you have GOT to see the amazing creations my Diva sisters came up with!!!! I was astounded at how gorgeous a black and white card could be!! Do yourself a favor and go take a peek!

Papertake Weekly - a sketch by Dawny paired up with Kraftin Kimmie
Yay! We made it through Monday! LOL! I don't usually care for Mondays, so having them behind me is a pretty good thing! It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week it's a sketch challenge that is being sponsored by Whiff of Joy! . I love sketch challenges! It totally takes all the guesswork out of designing a card! And this one is really cool. For my card, I chose to use some awesome Basic Grey papers from the Max and Whiskers line. Now You're Cookin' Magnolia-licious blog hop!
Happy Monday and welcome to the "Now you're cookin'" Magnolia-licious blog hop! If you arrived here from the lovely and talented Mindy, then you're in the right place. If not, please start at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog so you don't miss out on anything! This month, we're all giving you a yummy recipe card/project of something that we enjoy making during the fall/winter. My choice is to give you a recipe for a Dark Chocolate Cream pie!!! If I don't make this pie every Thanksgiving, I would never hear the end of it from my family! LOL! It's so rich and creamy and delicious! I hope you try it and let me know what you think. The recipe is not my own, it came from a cook book written by Rick Rodgers, called Thanksgiving 101. I've gotten a number of good recipes out of that book and would highly recommend it to anyone. I always figure if I can get one or two good recipes out of a cook book, then I'm happy.
For my recipe card, I used several Magnolia images, the first one being this adorable Tilda, #386 Kitchen Tilda from the A Little Yummy For Your Tummy Collection at Magnolia-licious. I also used #516 Rolling Pin (on the inside, sorry - couldn't get a good pic), and the big label on the front with Tilda is also a Magnolia image but I can't find it right now. Please just ask Diana about it if you're interested. The stamps are colored with Copic markers and then cut out for placement on the card. Tilda is popped up for dimension. If you have a collection of Magnolia recipe cards (or want to start one) and would like to have this one to add to your collection, please just say so in a comment. If there's more than one person, I"ll just do a random draw for it. Here's the recipe for your enjoyment. Just click on the pic to make it bigger. Sorry it's a little blurry toward the bottom. The pic was taken at an odd angle.
Now if you would like to win some goodies, please just leave me a comment on this post before 11:59 PM Pacific time on Friday, Oct 22nd. One entry per person please, and I will ship anywhere. Now it's time to head on over to see what kind of deliciousness that the lovely and talented Patti Jo has cooked up for you! Thanks so much for hopping along with us today! Hope to see you back again soon! Hug!

Happy Birthday Peggy!!! Scary spider story contest for free cd!!
Today is a very special day, as it's the birthday of my fabulous sister, Peggy, the owner of Peggy Loves Vintage! Of course my card is running late to her (it wouldn't be me if it weren't!). But I wanted to say I love you and I'm so proud of you! And I hope you're getting pampered and spoiled, as you truly deserve it!
For all of you that don't know her, Peggy is the mom of three fabulous kids. But she has I don't know how many "adopted" kids that she has taken in and taken care of throughout the years. She reminds me so much of our mom with her loving, caring, and nurturing nature! She's the older of the two of us, and she has always been such a positive influence in my life. Thanks for all your love, guidance, inspiration, and understanding over the years, sis! I love you! Happy Birthday!
Now are you a fan of Peggy's images? If you are, be sure and head over to Peggy's blog, cause she's having a scary spider story contest right now, and the prize is a cd of your choice!!! Creep her out, give her goose bumps, and you could be the one to benefit! And not only that, she's got another free image posted for your pleasure!! So hop on over there and check it all out. Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
