Hi everyone! It's time for a Magnolia-licious Design Team Blog Hop! Yep...we're actually a week early this month. so surprise!! LOL! Our challenge this month is to THINK PINK TREATS in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And we've got some amazing and gorgeous work along with fabulous treats for you too! If you've made your way here from my friend and awesomely talented Cheryl, then you're on the right track! If not, then you'll want to head over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog so you don't miss out on anything. Here's what I've created for you today.
I used #3050 Tilda with Striped Tights from the Pink Collection, and she's available right now at Magnolia-licious! Magnolia came out with the Pink Collection in 2008 and contains some beautiful Tilda images along with some Breast Cancer Awareness stamps. There are some available right now (including Tilda with Striped Tights) at Magnolia-licious. And even more importantly, a portion of the sale of these stamps are donated to the Cancer Society for Breast Cancer research. She's stamped on Cryogen White paper and colored with Copic markers. I fussy cut her out and popped her onto an awareness ribbon cut with the Silhouette.
The basket is also a Silhouette file. The papers are from It Takes Two matted with Bazzill cardstock and the ribbon is May Arts. I was trying to figure out what kind of treat I wanted to put in the basket and so I went to my trusty old friend Google. I found an easy recipe for Pink Popcorn and decided that would be perfect! I'll list the recipe below for you. I filled two treat bags and put them side by side in the basket.
I hope you're enjoying the blog hop today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me and it's time to hop over to see the fantabulous Norma and check out what bit of gorgeousness she's come up with for your viewing pleasure today. Don't forget to check out the pink popcorn recipe below! Hugs!
PINK POPCORN (recipe from Food.com)
2 Cups sugar
1 TBS butter
1/2 Cup water
red food coloring to desired color
2 Cups unpopped popcorn
Combine all ingredients (except popcorn) in medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Boil for three minutes, and then cool for 10 minutes.
While your sugar syrup is cooling, pop your popcorn. Slowly pour your syrup over the popcorn and toss to coat evenly.
Spread out onto a cookie sheet to dry. I liked it much better sprinkling salt over it while it's warm and sticky so you get the salty/sweet combination.
Once cool and candy is dry, put into bags.
Pink popcorn, love it! Great project, Sharon. Your coloring is beautiful too!
