Papertake Weekly - sketch week!

Oh gosh, I am so late in putting up my card for Papertake Weekly! I am so out of kilter! I am really hoping I can get back on schedule after this weekend. So anyway, it's sketch week over at PTW, and I LOVE Dawny's sketches! They're always amazing and it takes all the guesswork out of making a card.  Since it's the last Tuesday of the month, that means we're being sponsored by the amazing and generous Simon Says Stamp!

First, here's a look at Dawny's awesome sketch

And this is what I did with it!

For my card, I used some of my scrap paper from Three Bugs in a Rug matted by Bazzill cardstock. The doily is a die from Cheery Lynn Designs and the cute elephant is an image from Peggy Love's Vintage. It's on her Collection of Cuties CD.  Loooooove it!!! I mean seriously...can you go wrong with a pink gingham elephant? LOL! I just used one of my clear stamps on it's little note and doodled around the edge. I printed it out twice on my paper and cut them both out.  They're both mounted with dimensional tape.  The flowers and corners are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is from Stamp and Create.

So that's it for me today! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the rest of the gorgeous creations. Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and put Dawny's sketch to good use! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!  Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Getting Cute

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful start to your week! We went to see Harry Potter yesterday and it was awesome! I went with my oldest daughter and son (we're all Harry Potter freaks - LOL!)  It's so sad though, knowing that this is the last one.  So anyway, it's time for a new challenge from Dawny at Papertake Weekly, and this week it's "Getting Cute". This challenge is being sponosred by Wendy's Digital Delights.  For my card this week, I totally fell in love with Dawny's card HERE, and CASEd it. Thanks (as always) for the wonderful inspiration, Dawny!

I colored this little cutie hAnglar & stAnglar about a month ago, and have been wanting to use her on a card. Usually I work the other way around, pick the papers and then color the image. It's so much easier that way!  This layout was a Papertake Challenge a couple weeks ago that I missed, and I so love Dawny's sketches! So I simply utitlized it for this weeks challenge. She's colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up off the panel. The DP's are from Nitwit Collections matted with Bazzill cardstock. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon is May Arts from Stamp and Create, as is the charm. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and cut out with Nestabilities. I machine stitched the panels, and added a couple buttons from my stash. I've had some of you ask questions about my stitching and how I do it. I use a cheap machine I bought from Sears about three or four years ago (It's a Kenmore brand). It only does a couple stitches, but all I wanted was straight and zig zag so the lack of fancy stitches was not important to me. It only cost me about 70 bucks, and it's probably the best 70 bucks I've ever spent. It is constantly used, and the stitches always look fabulous.

So that's it for me today! Please pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the wonderful inspiration, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop if you're interested!

Magnolia-licious Summertime Bash Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone and welcome to the Magnolia-licious Summertime Bash Blog Hop!! I hope you're ready for lots of fun and wonderful inspiration! Both the Magnolia-licious Design Team and the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Design Team have come together to participate in this fabulous blog hop! I am the first stop on the hop today, so you're in the right place. If you get lost along the way, please visit Magnolia-licious Highlites blog to help get you back on track. Each stop along the hop with have a letter for you. Hop along to every blog to get all the letters, then unscramble them to form a phrase for a chance to win an amazing prize!! And I do mean amazing!!!! For all the details, just visit Magnolia-licious Highlites

Now for my project. There are three choices for this blog hop: Summer Picnic Fun, Beach Blanket Party, or Fishing the Day Away!  I went for the Summer Picnic Fun, and wanted to highlight a fun summer picnic day at the park.

I went with a stair step card and used LOTS of Magnolia images... #259 Kneeling Tilda, #3019 Tilda playing hopscotch, #3029 Tilda in star dress, #402 Rufus the dog, #421 sun, #428 Tree with carved heart,  and I can't find the blanket or the park bench in stock right now, but they are Magnolia images. If you're interested,  please just ask Diana about them. All the images are colored with Copic markers and fussy cut to attach to the card. The sun is attached with a strip of acetate so it would appear to be free standing above all the images.

I added absolutely nothing else as I thought the card was plenty busy enough without adding more to the mix.  Now if you'd like the chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate to Magnolia-licious, just leave a comment on this post before midnight Friday.  I'll pull the winner as soon as I can after that.
My letter is: "S"
Now please hop to visit the talented Cabio to see more inspiration and collect another letter! When you are finished collecting the letters, you will put them together to create a 3 word sentence. Find contest details at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog HERE! Thanks for joining us!

Card front using mini Sweet Tilda

WooHoo! Happy Friday! Just a really quick post to show you one of the card fronts I made for Diana to use at CHA in Chicago. I used #353 Mini Sweet Tilda  from the Sweet Rainbow collection at Magnolia-licious. She's colored with Copic markers and cut out with circle Nestabilities. The hearts were also cut out with Nestabilities. The papers were ones I just used from my scrap pile. Don't you just LOVE it when you can use up some scraps?? :) The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is May Arts silk. The little buttons came from my stash (my grandkids love to look and sort through my buttons! I remember doing that with my mom's button collection too! ) and I used a Martha Stewart border punch.  So that's it for me for today! Oh, I should let you know that I will be pretty absent for the next week. It's JJ's last week here and I took the time off of work to spend some time with him before we have to put him on the plane back home. So I apologize in advance if  I don't get to come by and visit you. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Paperplay Challenge - Things with Wings!

Good morning everyone and happy Friday Eve! :)  It's time for a new Paperplay Challenge and this weeks challenge is from the wonderfully talented Mandy! She is asking us for projects that contain "Things with Wings". We're being sponsored this week by the wonderul Meljen's, and the winner will receive 4 free digi's!!!  For my card this week, I chose to use this gorgeous Magnolia image that I received from the fabulous Diana at Magnolia-licious. She's from the Butterfly Dreams collection and I don't see her in stock right now. But if you're interested, just contact Diana and I'm sure she'll be able to tell you when she'll be back in stock.  I just think she's so beautiful, don't you? Shes colored with Copic markers and then cut out using oval Nestabilities and matted with the petite oval Nesties. I then zig zag stitched around the frame (I think you all know how much I love doing that LOL!)

The DP I used is from Bearly Mine Designs matted with Bazzill cardstock. Of course all the beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the yummy ribbon is from Stamp and Create. I am so in love with the circle sentiments from Lili of the Valley. This one is from the Dreamy Days collection. That yummy glittered heart is by Melissa Frances.  So that's it for my card today! Hope you will pop over to Paperplay Challenges and take a peek at all the fabulous creations by the talented design team and then grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Craft Us Crazy challenge sponsored by Peggy Loves Vintage!!

Hi everyone!! Hope you're having a wonderful week and that you're now ready for the upcoming weekend! I know I sure am! Before I get on to my card, I wanted to show you a pic of  three of my grandsons. They're all currently having a blast down at Disneyland all week and I miss them all terribly! You can see poor Chris's face. He was riding his scooter and had an arguement with the asphalt! Poor little guy! Just two days before they left! He was devistated that Mickey Mouse was going to see him looking like this! I need to teach that young'un on how to catch himself when he falls!!  Anyway, that's Chris with the poor little road rashed face, JJ is standing beside him and little Benny is in front.  These little guys are my pride and joy!!!

So now on with my card....My sister Peggy from Peggy Loves Vintage is sponsoring the new challenge over at Craft Us Crazy! The challenge is either Christmas in July and/or Distressed Vintage. Your choice or you can even combine the two. I have to admit that I have been VERY busy with a houseful, so I made an extremely simple card for the challenge. Peggy supplied some images to the Craft Us Crazy DT, so I used one of those images for my card.

I simply printed the image out on white Bazzill cardstock, and then double matted the image with more Bazzill cardstock. The DP is from Barely Mine, the ribbon is May Arts silk ribbon, and the charm is from my stash. See that gorgeous lace? I hit the mother lode when I was visiting Peggy last week! We went rummaging through an antique shop and they had loads of lace in packages for like a buck and a buck fifty! I snagged every bag with the laces I loved! I was in lace heaven!!

Don't know if you've been to visit Peggy Loves Vintage, but she has the most amazing collection of vintage images! She offers collections on cd's, and she also offers cut out sheets. They are so wonderful for making a quick card! So please be sure and pop over to Peggy Loves Vintage to check it all out!  Don't forget about her blog where she loves to give away free images! Be sure to sign up to follow her so you don't miss any! Also please be sure to visit Craft Us Crazy to see all the amazing creations from her talented design team, and play along with the challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize from Peggy! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious monthly DT sketch challenge and Papertake Weekly - anything goes!

Hi everyone! Gosh it's been forever since I've posted! Things have been crazy around here and I've been lost in all the chaos! LOL! A couple more weeks, and then things should start to get back to normal. With it being the first of the month, it's time for a new sketch challenge from the Magnolia-licious Design Team. This month, the challenge was picked by Mindy, and she gave us an awesome sketch to follow! With it being Tuesday, it's also time for a new Papertake Weekly challenge which I totally missed last week! I was so bummed cause it's the very first week I've ever missed our challenge. But I'm back raring to go this week. And it's an "anything goes" challenge (with an option of using buttons) which is sponsored by Lili of the Valley!  For my card this week, I used one of my very favorite new Tilda images, #3032 Watercan Tilda from the new Sweet Rainbow collection which is available right now over at Magnolia-licious!  I also used the tulip pathway image which I can't find in stock right now. Please contact Diana at Magnolia-licious if you're interested in purchasing one.

I colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut Tilda out and popped her up for dimension. The circle sentiement is from Lili of the Valley and is cut out using Nesties.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the DP is Basic Grey which is matted with Bazzill cardstock. Plenty of machine stitching adds to the card, and I also used some crocheted lace and May Arts silk ribbon all which came from Stamp and Create.  So that's it for me today! Thanks so much for popping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
