Hop for Joy! A new Magnolia-licious DT sketch challenge

Good morning and happy March 1st....the month that has the first day of spring! YAY! LOL! We have a new DT sketch challenge for you from Magnolia-licious. This month, it's Jacque's turn to choose the challenge and she provided us with an awesome sketch! I wanted to use this adorable Tilda in a bunny suit that I got from Magnolia-licious. And true to my record, I have used yet another stamp that is not in stock in the store. UGH! I'm so sorry. But if you're interested, please be sure and email Diana. I also used #427 flowers from Lazy Summer Days collection. Both are colored with Copic markers and Tilda is cut out and popped up for dimension.

The fun and punny sentiment is from a set of Easter Greetings at The Cutting Cafe' called Happy Easter Inside and Out Greetings. The butterflies are cut using my Cricut, and I added a Prima rose I got from Stamp and Create and some cherry blossoms I got from Wild Orchid Crafts. Please be sure and visit Magnolia-licious Highlites to see the gorgeous cards the rest of my design team sisters have created. They are all so fabulously talented. And we're excited that we've got two new guest designers joining us as well! So a huge welcome to Mindy and Angela!

That's it for today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!!

April Showers bring May Flowers. Peggy Loves Vintage with The Cutting Cafe'

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. We had a rainy day today, which is wonderful. I love rainy days. Now please understand that I also live Reno, which is high altitude desert. So we just don't get rainy days. We get good snowy days, but rain storms are far and few between. So when we get one, I love it. Ok, enough about the weather! :) Let's move on to this adorable duck and baby from Peggy Loves Vintage! This image is actually from the New Baby Volume 2 cd. Be sure and really look at the images on Peggy's CDs with an open mind. They can be used for so many different things. I cut the image from the front of a baby shower card, because I thought they'd make the most adorable card to celebrate Spring.

I printed out two of the images because I wanted to pop up Mama Duck, baby duck, and the top part of the umbrella. I just used some dimensional tape to pop them up. Hopefully you can see the dimension a little better in the picture below. Please visit Peggy's blog too. She's got a couple great images she's giving away right now. Please be sure and leave her some love and let her know which image you like best. She'd also love it if you'd link up your project you made.
I mounted this adorable duck and baby on a FABULOUS scalloped square from The Cutting Cafe'! I don't know if you've seen the new large scalloped square from Spellbinders, and I also know I don't have to tell you how spendy they are. You can get the Assorted Scalloped Set 1 file from The Cutting Cafe', which has quite a few different type of scallops on it, for a grand total of $5.99, and you can make it any size you want with the click of your mouse!!! Easy peasy! You can either use the wpc file to cut it out with a cutting machine, or you can use the pdf file and your scissors. I truly LOVE this file of scallops! I cut mine out with my Pazzle Inspiration which I got from Hallmark Scrapbook! Hallmark is one of my favorite stores to shop at on line. Jody and Brad are the most wonderful people! They have the best prices and service ever! I also used the Rain, Rain, Go Away file for the sentiment. Regina has been releasing lots of new files, so please be sure and check them out over at The Cutting Cafe'!!
Thanks so much for stopping to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Happy Saturday my friends!! I sure hope you're enjoying your weekend! I know I sure am. I think after I finish posting this, I might just go in and take a little nap! Wags 'n Whiskers - My Favorite Things!

Happy Friday everyone! We made it through another week and it's time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge. This week, the challenge comes from the awesome Jacqui, and she's asking everyone to use their favorite things. I chose to work with one of the new "Wee Ones" from the newest release of Wags 'n Whiskers stamps called "Hey Grandma". Isn't he so adorable??

So what did I use on my card that's my favorite things? Well, I'll start with the image that reminds me of my four Grandsons, then there's buttons and silk bows, polka dots, and an adorable charm! I used my Copics and Nesties and Cricut to cut the stars, too! So there's tons of things that represent things I love. :) I'm not so sure about the pom poms on this one, though. I don't think I like them.

Please be sure and visit Wags 'n Whiskers to see the AMAZING creations by the rest of the Diva's. They are sooooo talented! And then please grab your Wags 'n Whiskers images and play along with the challenge too for a chance to win a free stamp! Thanks so much for stopping to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon!! Hugs!!

No IFs, ANDs, or BUTTS!! A new Papertake Weekly Challenge

Another Monday bites the dust! I love it once I get Monday conquered at work. And that means that tonight is Bachelor night! oooooooo....what's gonna happen?? It shows previews of Allie calling him to tell him she made the wrong choice. Is he going to let her back in or tell her she made her bed, so now she can lay (lie?) in it! I can see English teachers cringing everywhere! LOL! I can't wait to see what happens!!! Ok, enough about cutie patootie Jake! It's time for a new Papertake Weekly challenge! And this week, I showed just how clueless I really am! LOL! So I see the challenge for this week, and it says Check this out! So in my brainless head, I thought...Oh...Dawny wants us to look at the sponsor. I'm such a dweeb! LOL! I was supposed to use something checked! UGH! Anyway, if you click on the pic, you can see a VERY VERY TEENY TINY check on the large piece of background paper! LOL! Works for me since I didn't have time to do a redo! :) So this week, we're being sponsored by the Stitchy Stamp Store, and they so graciously gave the DT some images to play with. When I saw this adorable little darling, I knew I HAD to have her! Wouldn't she have looked way cute in little checkered bloomers too?? :)

So I printed her up and colored her with Copic markers, then cut around her with my Nesties. The sentiment is one I came up with to go with the image and I just printed it out on the computer. Her bloomers were paper pieced with some digi paper. Be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly and "CHECK" out the rest of the talented DT's projects! Then grab your paper and glue and play along with us. You just might win an awesome prize from The Stitchy Stamp Store! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! hugs!

A Magnolia-licious Blog Hop with Pop Ups! So it's a POP HOP!

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! Welcome to the Magnolia-licious Blog Hop! If you arrived here from the amazingly talented Kerry, then you're on the right track. If not, then you might want to head to the beginning at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. This month, we're making cards that are pop-ups! Fun stuff!!! This was my first ever pop up card, so I was in a little bit of a quandry on how to make one and not have a big open slit on the outside of my card. I finally worked it out where it doesn't look like I've just got a pieced together mess. LOL! I just used an inner piece of cardstock that was lighter weight, turned that into my cut piece for the pop up, and then glued that into the inside of my card base.

On the outside of my card, I used Tilda in Spring Rain and the rock wall, and I can't find it on Diana's site Magnolia-licious right now. So if you're interested in either one, please be sure and contact Diana about it. Diana has TONS of stamps in stock, but for some reason, I seem to have a knack for picking stamps to use that are sold out. I'm so sorry!

I stamped Tilda in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then masked her off and stamped the rock wall behind her. I then colored them with Copic markers. The large flowers are Prima . I then added a silk bow along with an umbrella charm from Stamp and Create. The sentiment is from a set called Rain, Rain Go Away from The Cutting Cafe'.

Inside I used Tilda as a butterfly (also currently sold out at Magnolia-licious), #463 the rain cloud (only I didn't use it as a rain cloud), #468 Dot Butterflies, and #421 the sun. Tilda as butterfly is the only piece that actually pops up. The sentiment is computer generated and then cut out with Nesties.

Now for the fun part, if you would like to win this card and a few other little goodies, just leave a comment on this post before midnight Pacific time on Friday night, Feb 19th. I will draw a winner via Random.org sometime that weekend. So leave your comment, and then hop on over to see Cheryl. There's not a doubt in my mind that she is going to have an amazing creation to show you! Thanks so much for coming by to see me today and playing in our blog hop! Hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope you're having a wonderful day, whether it be with your sweetie, your kids, grandkids, friends, or just time alone to reflect. But whatever you're doing, I hope you're enjoying it. This was just a quick Valentine card I threw together simply because I wanted to use this adorable frog! That's it, nothing else than to use the frog. LOL!

He's a digi image from Pink Cat Studio and I printed him out three times. I popped the balloon, his hands (or front legs - whichever you want to call them) and his face up once each, and his eyes I added a third so they're really sticking up. Cardstock is Bazzill, and the frog is colored with Copic markers.

The sentiment is computer generated, and it was just a lot of fun tomake. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and I sure hope to see you back here tomorrow for a Magnolia-licious blog hop!! Take care and have a wonderful day! HUGS!

February Magnolia-licious DT challenge - A wiper card!

This is my second post for today. If you're looking for the Wags 'n Whiskers blog hop, please scroll down to the next post. This card is for the Magnolia-licious Design Team challenge for February. Our challenge this month came from the fabulous Diana Crick, and she asked us to make a wiper card with the theme of spring! I sure didn't have much problem with the spring part of it! As half the country is being pummeled with snow and cold weather, our sun is shining beautifully and it's going to be in the high 50's!! I love it! As some of you might know, yellow is my favorite color. I don't use it much in my card making, but I truly love how bright and cheery it is, and I think it's the perfect color for spring. So that's the main color of my card for today. I used #330 Tilda in hat sitting. I have always loved this Tilda. I just think she's the epitome of spring! She's colored with Copic markers on cryogen white paper and then cut out and popped up for dimension.

I then used #421 sun for one of the wipers, and #406 little birds for the other. I used the directions for the wiper card, except cut my two pieces of base cardstock at 6" x 9" because I like my 6" square cards. I still scored at 1-1/2" and 3" as stated in the tutorial. Please visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog for instructions on how to make this style card, and to find out how to enter the challenge.

That's it for today. Please be sure and visit the challenge blog to see the fabulous designs from the rest of the design team, and then we'd love it if you would grab your paper and glue and join us for the challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

You and Me and The Cutting Cafe'!!

Post is edited to add this: Here's a REALLY quick card I put together with the awesome background stamps available as a freebie over at The Cutting Cafe' for this weekend only! Get them before midnight on Monday night! The details are in my post below. Image is from Dustin Pike. Seniment is from another file from The Cutting Cafe' called Rain Rain Go Away.

Happy weekend!! YAY!! Ok, have you seen the new scalloped set over at The Cutting Cafe'???? Oh my gosh, I am going to be using this set a LOT!! This scalloped card is just one scallop edge that comes in this set of 15!! I love this card, but it was designed for an A2 size card and I wanted bigger. So I just made it bigger and cut it with my Pazzle. Worked beautifully!! Or you can just print it onto your paper you want to use and you can cut it out yourself with the pdf file. So don't feel limited if it's not the size you want. Just change it! Try to keep the same proportions though, or the scallops will get distorted. In other words, increase or decrease the sides equally if all sides are scalloped. I also used the All About Valentine's Day set for the You and Me that is printed inside the heart.

Here's the card recipe:

images and shaped card: The Cutting Cafe'

paper - Bazzill cardstock

tools: Martha Stewart border punch; heart shaped Nestabilities; Bow Easy, Copic air brush system; Martha Stewart frond punch

Misc: silk ribbon; charm from Stamp and Create; flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, half backed pearls, dimensional tape

Ok, now for the fun stuff! Regina at The Cutting Cafe' is offering up some free background stamps for the entire weekend as a way to say thank you to her customers. So hurry over and grab them up, and then she's also running a contest for what you can make with one or both of the freebies. Do your best cause this is a judged contest, not a random draw! Can't wait to see what you do with them! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Wags 'n Whiskers - CHARMING!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you had a wonderful week and that you're ready for the weekend! It's time for a new challenge from Wags 'n Whiskers, and this weeks challenge is brought to us courtesy of the amazing Nikki!! Nikki asks us to be CHARMING with our projects this week. So please use either a charm or a metal embellishment on your project. How fun! I am so crazy about charms! I hardly make a card without them anymore! And you can find amazing assortments of them from both Lacey at Stamp and Create, and Nikki at Bunny Zoe's Crafts! I chose to to use the gorgeous stamp With Love which is available right now from Wags 'n Whiskers! It's colored with Copic markers.

The Divas have created such gorgeous cards for you to see this week, so please be sure and visit Wags 'n Whiskers to see their amazing work! Then we'd love it if you'd play along with the challenge. Be sure to use a Wags 'n Whiskers image so you'll be eligible to win a prize! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

PTW - Love Actually

What a day! I spent almost three hours in the dentist chair today getting prepped for a crown. Fun stuff, huh? It's time for a new challenge at Papertake Weekly. And this week, Dawny's challenge is Love Actually! I have had this card in my head for a good six months now, and finally was able to make it. This card was the reason I bought this Tilda and Edwin from Magnolia-licious! I used Giggling Tilda, which is not in stock right now, and #129 Kissing Edwin, Standing. I just wanted his head in the thought cloud so I cut it out with a circle Nestie. I also used the cannister set from A Little Yummy For Your Tummy collection. I don't see these in the store either, but if you're interested, just email Diana about them.

Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the fabulous cards created by the rest of the talented designers, and then grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
