Tilda with present - Did you ever just have one of those days?

Ok, so here's the scenario...I've got about four hours or so into this card. It's finished inside and out. The only thing I have left to do is stamp the "Happy Birthday" on the inside, right? So I've got my stamp on my acrylic block and I open up my Memento ink pad and start to pat my stamp. And there goes my ink pad, right out of my hand, sliding right across the right half of my card. OH NO!!! I don't know what it is with that ink pad, but it's like it really likes to jump out of my hand!

So anyway, thus the reason for all the flowers up the right side of the card! I was so frustrated after putting all that time into it, and I really loved the way it looked before I totally ruined it. Oh well....no sense in crying over spilled milk, right? For this one, I used #249 Tilda with heart package from Magnolia-licious colored with my Copic markers. The paper is from Wild Rose Studio, and the flowers are Prima. I sure hope it doesn't look too awful bad. What do you think? I hate it, but it's not what I wanted either.

Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and I hope to see you back again soon! I'll be back to my normal blogging before too long. My Grandson leaves on the 11th *sniff* . Big hugs!

I like the card as it is. The flowers are a very nice touch. I would never had known anything was wrong if you hadn't said anything. I thought I was the only one that stuff happened to.

Sharon, you must have had "Barb" written on your stamp pad! LOL. I've done that so many times, but at after so many hours of labor. At least it didn't jump on top of your Tilda because that would have been serious!!! Your Tilda is beautifully colored and so cute on the polk a dot background. I think you did a bang up job putting the flowers cascading down the right side. Wonderful save of an otherwise disasterous situation. What grace, what style! You did a great job...

The flowers look like they were meant to be, picking up on the cute DP. I guess ink pads like dishes left on the counter...they supposedly have legs....lol.
Lovely card!

Oh Sharon, I had to chuckle when I read this! This did happen to me also, and even a couple of times when I was just stamping some images! I swear that Memento Black Tuxedo pad has some hidden energy and starts jumping...you don't know how many pieces of CS I've ruined! But, alas, we have so many embellies to cover up the actual card if it happens right? Your card looks fabulous and one would never know!!! Thanks for the chuckle and for sharing this wonderful card! Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Cami

Hi Sharon, I think your card is so cute!! I love the extra flowers that you had to add on because of that darn Momento pad!! You don't know how many times the design of my cards had to change because of something happening. LOL!! I love the DP's that you used. . . they are so sweet!! And Tilda is colored in so perfectly to match!!

I think you just make these things up to make me feel better. In fact, if I didn't know better..I would think you've been spying on me! LOL!
That sounds exactly...like a day I would have.
I must say though, that your cards always seem to end up perfect and this is another perfect example of a perfect Sharon card!!!

Hi Sharon!
I have been meaningn to say how I love the new look to your blog for a while now - keep forgetting!
Well I am like the rest of the girls here - that ink pad trick happens to me all the time. Now I feel better to know it happens to most of us. I thought it was being not being careful......
Your card is delightful - who would have known what happened if you didn't say.
Hugs, Candy

LOL, if you didn't mentioned, no one can tell. The flowers look pretty good though! However, i know what ya meant by frustration. One time I baked cupcakes and when it was done, I realized I forgot to put sugar...aaarrrrgghhhh...then I quickly restarted making a new batch and finally got them into the oven.....after a minute, the power was out.....argggghhhh....and we have no power for over an hour. Where were the cupcakes??? It shrunk as little as a piece of thumb nail which ended up into the garbage!

She is beautiful and no one would ever know a boo boo happened. But know the frustration, what is it with those ink pads anyway? Hope you have a grand Tuesday. Sandi

I know what you mean - I've done those kind of things too. It never seems so bad when it happens to someone else, but it's disastrous when it happens to you.
I almost managed to ruin my cousin's graduation card like that with my silver promarker that left a HUUUUge blob on Edwin's shoe. Good thing I could remove the image and colour a new one. It was 3 in the morning the day before too so I was freaked, lol.

I never would have known that you didn't mean to put the flowers on the left side of the card. You did a great rescue job. Very pretty colors.

This is a great example of how you can make mistakes but end up with a perfectly made card! Thanks for the inspiration!

Beautiful card, Sharon! No one would every know you had an "issue" with it! that happened to me twice today, just as I was finishing cards that had to be mailed out!
Love your coloring and details!

Hi Sharon, I can so identify with you and the ink pad boo-boo. It sounds like most of your fans can, also. I have one completely finished card and custom envelope which is sitting on the holder on my desk. Ruined by an accidental swipe across an open ink pad. My mistake occured on the back, right beside where I place my, "This card made especially for you by Linda Slattery" stamp. Have yet to figure out a "fix" for that one. Any ideas? I can't bear to throw it away, so I keep it, occassionally picking it up to see if it has somehow magically fixed itself!!! Yeah, like bright pink ink will fade and even dissolve over time!! Now you know you are not alone. Linda S. in NE

This kind of thing happens to all of us! I think of it as just another "challenge". Can you imagine. . ."OK everyone. . .today's challenge is to make a gorgeous card and then deliberately mess it up somehow. Then, alter it to make it look gorgeous again." LOL If that had been the challenge today, you would have knocked it out of the park! This turned out super! Way to go using the old creativity!!! Best, Curt
